Nivolumab in patients with unresectable locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma: CheckMate 275 2-year global and Japanese patient population analyses.
Nivolumab has demonstrated antitumor activity and manageable safety in the single-arm, phase II CheckMate 275 study in patients with unresectable locally advanced or metastatic platinum-resistant urothelial carcinoma. We report updated results of the global population and a subanalysis of Japanese patients from this study. ⋯ Nivolumab continues to show antitumor activity and survival in the global population of CheckMate 275. Meaningful clinical benefit was also observed in Japanese patients. No new safety signals were identified.

Multicenter StudyBortezomib-based strategy with autologous stem cell transplantation for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma: a phase II study by the Japan Study Group for Cell Therapy and Transplantation (JSCT-MM12).
The Japan Study Group for Cell Therapy and Transplantation (JSCT) organized a phase II study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a treatment protocol (JSCT-MM12) for multiple myeloma (MM) patients who were previously untreated and transplantation-eligible. Since bortezomib-based therapy is known to be effective for MM, the protocol is intensified more than the previous protocol (JSCT-MM10) and comprised the subsequent treatments: bortezomib + cyclophosphamide + dexamethasone (VCD) induction; bortezomib + high-dose-melphalan (B-HDM) conditioning with autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT); bortezomib + thalidomide + dexamethasone (VTD) consolidation; and lenalidomide (LEN) maintenance. ⋯ The study revealed that the treatment protocol consisting of VCD induction, B-HDM/ASCT followed by VTD consolidation, and LEN maintenance could produce highly beneficial responses and favorable tolerability in newly diagnosed MM. However, future study is required for improving treatment in the high-risk group.

Long-term outcomes and prognostic factors of pulmonary metastasectomy for osteosarcoma and soft tissue sarcoma.
The prognostic factors of pulmonary metastasectomy in patients with osteosarcoma and soft tissue sarcoma remain controversial. The purpose of our analysis was to explore the prognostic factors and outcomes of patients with osteosarcoma and soft tissue sarcoma who underwent pulmonary metastasectomy at our institution. ⋯ The survival of patients with a relatively long disease-free interval, small tumor size and complete resection was favorable following the treatment of osteosarcoma and soft tissue sarcoma with pulmonary metastasectomy. Repeat pulmonary metastasectomies also provide favorable prognosis in select patients.

Multicenter StudyBiweekly S-1 plus oxaliplatin (SOX) reintroduction in previously treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients (ORION 2 study): a phase II study to evaluate the efficacy and safety.
The reintroduction of oxaliplatin as a third-or-later-line regimen has been a promising option for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) who previously received chemotherapy including oxaliplatin. In this single-arm phase II study, we evaluated the efficacy of biweekly SOX, which is the combination of oxaliplatin reintroduction and S-1, as a third-or-later-line treatment. ⋯ Biweekly SOX regimen with reintroduction of oxaliplatin could be exploitable as the third- and/or later-line treatments for patients with mCRC.

Meta AnalysisCT and clinical characteristics that predict risk of EGFR mutation in non-small cell lung cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
To systematically analyze CT and clinical characteristics to find out the risk factors of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Then the significant characteristics were used to set up a mathematic model to predict EGFR mutation in NSCLC. ⋯ Based on the current evidence, GGO presence, air bronchogram, pleural retraction, vascular convergence were significant risk factors of EGFR mutation in NSCLC. And the prediction model can help to predict EGFR mutation status.
