ReviewUpdate on Avoiding and Treating Blindness From Fillers: A Recent Review of the World Literature.
Sudden loss of vision secondary to filler treatments is a rare but catastrophic complication. ⋯ Although the risk of blindness from fillers is rare, practitioners who inject filler should have a thorough knowledge of this complication including prevention and management strategies.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudySafety and Effectiveness of Repeat Treatment With VYC-15L for Lip and Perioral Enhancement: Results From a Prospective Multicenter Study.
VYC-15L (Juvéderm Volbella XC) is a nonanimal crosslinked hyaluronic acid (HA) gel with lidocaine. ⋯ Repeat treatment with VYC-15L at 1 year was safe and effective for lip and perioral enhancement, and required less product volume to achieve similar effectiveness to initial/touch-up treatment.

Comparative StudyTransition to Nonopioid Analgesia Does Not Impair Pain Control After Major Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Multimodal analgesic protocols are increasingly favored over traditional opioid regimens due to decreased adverse side effects and reduced opioid consumption. Concomitant use of selective cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 inhibitor celecoxib and anticonvulsant gabapentin have been proposed to adequately control acute postoperative pain. ⋯ This nonopioid regimen is as effective as traditional opioid use for acute postoperative pain control and decreased recovery time for outpatient aesthetic plastic breast surgeries.
