Drug-induced QTc interval prolongation in PCR-positive non-ICU COVID-19 patients with diverse findings on chest computed tomography.
Some of the drugs used for the treatment of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) can increase the risk of corrected QT (QTc) interval prolongation, which may trigger arrhythmia or even death. Due to the low sensitivity of the reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test, chest computed tomography (CT) imaging is being used for COVID-19 diagnostic correlation and to evaluate whether there is pneumonic involvement in the lung. ⋯ This study has demonstrated findings of COVID-19 infection based on chest CT does not correlate with QT interval prolongation in non-ICU COVID-19 patients. There is a need for additional larger studies investigating the effect of chest CT findings on QT interval prolongation and bradycardia in COVID-19 patients.

Impact of abdominal obesity on outcomes of catheter ablation in Korean patients with atrial fibrillation.
Effects of abdominal obesity on outcomes of atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation remains ill-defined. Here, we evaluated the impact of abdominal obesity on the long-term efficacy and safety of catheter AF ablation among Korean patients. ⋯ Abdominal obesity as indicated by waist circumference was associated with a greater burden of concomitant diseases and an independent risk factor for long-term redo AF intervention following catheter ablation but had no effects on total peri-procedural complications.

Prior benzodiazepine use and mortality among adult patients with sepsis: A retrospective population-based cohort study in South Korea.
This study investigated whether long-term benzodiazepine use is associated with increased 90-day mortality among patients with sepsis. ⋯ Long-term benzodiazepine use is associated with increased 90-day mortality among adult patients with sepsis compared with non-users. This association was more evident in benzodiazepine users with other psychiatric diseases, such as depression or anxiety disorder.

The purpose of this study is to assess the parameters of heart rate variability, which is an indicator of the change in autonomic nervous system (ANS) activity, in individuals with premature ejaculation (PE). ⋯ Different HRV parameters were exhibited in the comparison of patients with PE and normal controls. It suggests that the change in HRV parameters will be an indicator of imbalance in ANS and this imbalance may cause PE. Therefore, HRV analysis can be a diagnostic tool to assess altered ANS activity in patients with PE and may be considered as a rapid screening tool.

Aerosol therapy has the advantage of a higher safety because of the local deposition of inhaled medication to the lung; however, the main drawback is the low and variable amount of delivered drug to patients. Hence, this study aimed to investigate the effect of different accessory connections on aerosol delivery from different nebulisers. ⋯ Using a valved chamber with jet and VMNs significantly improved the inhaled amount of the emitted aerosol. VMNs were more effective than jet nebulisers with both connections.
