ReviewA possible follow-up method for diabetic heart failure patients.
Plasma osmolarity is maintained through various mechanisms. The osmolarity of the aqueous humor around the crystalline lens is correlated with plasma osmolarity. A vacuole can be formed in the lens upon changes in osmolarity. The sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) are new in the treatment of heart failure. They can cause osmotic diuresis but do not affect plasma osmolarity. ⋯ There is a possibility of using lens vacuoles in the follow-up of diabetic heart failure patients.

Meta AnalysisThe association between psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis with the risk of osteoporosis, osteopenia, and bone fractures: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
The possible association between psoriatic/psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and bone loss has been observed; however, studies have yielded inconclusive results. This meta-analysis aimed to assess whether there is an increase in the risk of osteoporosis, osteopenia and fractures in patients with psoriasis/PsA, compared with healthy individuals. ⋯ Patients with psoriasis/PsA have an increased risk of fractures. There is little evidence supporting the relation of psoriasis to osteoporosis/osteopenia.

Meta AnalysisEffect of Orlistat on serum Uric acid level in adults: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Hyperuricemia increases the risk of gout and cardiovascular diseases. Obesity increases the risk of hyperuricemia while weight loss (>5 kg) has been reported to decrease urate. The effects of orlistat on serum uric acid (SUA) are still controversial. The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the influence of orlistat on SUA levels in adults. ⋯ We found a significant reduction in SUA following orlistat therapy in adults.
