Inherent clinical properties of non-immediate hypersensitivity to iodinated contrast media.
Iodinated contrast media (ICM) is a frequently used compound in radiology. Non-immediate hypersensitivity reactions (HSR) appear when a patient leaves the department and usually are undocumented. True hypersensitivity in this group is rarely proved. ⋯ One-third of the hypersensitivity reactions investigated were classified as non-immediate type. Most of them manifested with isolated skin symptoms. The most frequent culprit drug encountered was iodixanol. The overall non-immediate hypersensitivity confirmation rate after diagnostic evaluation was only 15%.

Is ıt safe to perform electıve gynecologıc surgery durıng the two peaks of COVID-19 pandemıc?
In December 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic started in China and spread around the World. Operations were postponed in most surgical clinics to reduce the risk of contamination and increase the number of beds available in hospitals. We investigate whether elective gynaecologic surgery is safe or not under safety measures. ⋯ Our study offers a novel perspective on elective surgery during a pandemic. The risk assessment of patients should be meticulously done and substantiated on objective variables. According to our study, in a carefully selected patient population, operating under appropriate precautions, elective gynaecologic surgical procedures during the two peaks of the COVID-19 pandemic do not pose a risk to the patients.

The relationship between irritability and autism symptoms in children with ASD in COVID-19 home confinement period.
This study investigated the impact of COVID-19 home confinement on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) symptoms and irritability in children and adolescents with ASD. ⋯ These results have alerted us of the importance of focusing on the symptoms such as irritability exhibited by extremely vulnerable populations during disease outbreaks and of the necessity of developing new strategies to avoid such adverse outcomes in similar situations.

Trends in Cardiovascular mortality of cancer patients in the US over two decades 1999-2019.
Cancer is the second most common cause of death globally after cardiovascular disease, and cancer patients are at an increased risk of CV death. This recognition has led to publication of cardio-oncological guidelines and to the widespread adoption of dedicated cardio-oncology services in many institutes. However, it is unclear whether there has been a change in the incidence of CV death in cancer patients. ⋯ Our findings emphasise the role of multidisciplinary management of cancer patients. Widespread adoption of cardio oncology services have the potential to impact the inherent risk of increased CV mortality in both cancer patients and survivors.

The relationship between endogenous secretory RAGE and cardiac autonomic function in prediabetes.
The putative protective role of esRAGE for cardiac autonomic function (CAF) remains unclear. To address this question, the present study has assessed the relationship of serum AGEs, sRAGE and esRAGE, and tissue AGEs with CAF in a high-risk population without diabetes. ⋯ Our results have demonstrated that CAF is decreased in prediabetes. esRAGE, but not sRAGE, is reciprocally related to CAF, probably opposing the negative effects of glycation.
