Aetiology and antimicrobial susceptibility pattern of bacterial isolates in community acquired pneumonia patients at Asir region, Saudi Arabia.
Community acquired pneumonia is a commonly presenting respiratory tract infection around the world. Its treatment is problematic at times because of diversity of infecting organisms and change in susceptibility pattern to commonly prescribed antimicrobials. ⋯ The decreased susceptibility to macrolides and tetracyclines is a matter of concern and judicious use of antimicrobials should be done to prevent further rates of resistance.

End-Stage Renal Disease and Lower Gastrointestinal Bleeding - A Propensity-matched Analysis of Nationwide Inpatient Sample.
We aim to determine the influence of lower gastrointestinal bleeding (LGIB) on mortality, morbidity, length of hospital stay and resource utilisation in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. ⋯ In this propensity-matched analysis, ESRD with LGIB was associated with higher odds of in-hospital mortality, mechanical ventilation and shock requiring vasopressor. Mean LOS and resource utilisation were also higher.

COVID-19: How do emergency departments fare after normalization steps?
Restrictions imposed for the COVID-19 pandemic and the people's fear of getting infected have caused a significant drop in the number of emergency service admissions. Herein, we aimed to investigate the reflections of our otherwise crowded emergency services' quietness in the period of normalisation. ⋯ In the period of COVID-19 pandemic, fear of getting infected and the restrictions imposed to limit the spread of the disease have kept people out of hospitals. We believe that while the restrictions imposed on various activities have prevented the virus from spreading, they also caused the course of non-COVID-19 diseases to worsen and mortality rates to rise. Therefore, we are of the opinion that the public should be informed about the importance of uninterrupted treatment/follow-up and 'Life-threatening Urgent Conditions' that should necessarily prompt hospital visits in possible pandemics.

Smoking Habits among Patients with Psoriasis and the Effect of Smoking on Clinical and Treatment-associated Characteristics: A Cross Sectional Study.
Psoriasis is a multifactorial, chronic inflammatory skin disease where genetic and environmental factors play a role in the pathogenesis. Smoking is one of the critical environmental factors triggering psoriasis. ⋯ Smoking has many negative effects on patients with psoriasis including higher PASI levels, increased frequency of nail involvement, and cardiovascular diseases. Questioning cigarette smoking in psoriatic patients and supporting smoking cessation may contribute to reducing the adverse impact of smoking on psoriasis.

Evaluation of Sleep Quality, Insomnia severity and OSAS risk in primary care population: A Descriptive Study.
In our study, we aimed to evaluate the sleep quality, insomnia presence and severity, obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS) risk of the patients who applied to family health centres and to determine the situations that might be related with these features. ⋯ In this context, it will be very effective in terms of the quality of life of patients in order to determine the conditions that disrupt sleep hygiene and to perform the necessary interventions which can be intervened in the primary healthcare institutions and the other patients to be delivered to the related upper levels.
