Comparing re-hospitalization rates in a real-world naturalistic 24- month follow-up of psychotic patients with different treatment strategies: oral versus LAI antipsychotics.
Non-adherence to antipsychotic treatment is a major issue in the management of severe psychiatric disorders, because it is usually related to future relapses and re-hospitalisations. Long-Acting-Injection (LAI) antipsychotics can be useful to increase treatment adherence in these patients. The aim of the present study was to compare the re-hospitalisation rates of psychotic patients discharged from a psychiatric ward and then, divided into three groups upon the treatment received: LAI antipsychotic, oral antipsychotic at home or oral antipsychotic administered daily by psychiatric nurse staff as patients lived in a long-term care facility. ⋯ This study highlights the impact of LAI antipsychotics in preventing re-hospitalisation in severe psychotic patients at high risk in a naturalistic setting. The benefits appear relevant also with respect to a controlled long-term oral antipsychotic treatment, however, further studies are needed to develop more tailored intervention strategies in such complex psychiatric population.

Congestive heart failure treated with peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis: typical patient profile and outcomes in real-world setting.
Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is increasingly used for the long-term management of hypervolemic refractory congestive heart failure (CHF) patients, in particular when complicated by renal insufficiency. While PD has many advantages over hemodialysis (HD) in those patients, there is a controversy concerning survival superiority of PD compared with HD in this population. The aim of the study was to define typical patient profile and to compare outcomes of patients with CHF and renal failure treated with HD or PD. ⋯ CHF patient profile was different in PD and HD. Two modalities were equally effective in the treatment of patients with CHF and renal failure considering different patient characteristics.

Is there any association of COVID-19 with Testicular Pain and Epididymo-orchitis.
This study aims to analyse the novel Coronavirus disease- (COVID-19) related testicular pain in hospitalised patients because of COVID-19 and to review as an aetiological factor for epididymitis, orchitis or both. ⋯ Testicular pain was observed more frequently in hospitalised COVID-19 cases. While no inflammation marker which is related to predict of testicular pain or epididymo-orchitis was found in patients with COVID-19.

ascular disease in patients with atrial fibrillation. A report from Polish participants in the EORP-AF General Long-Term Registry.
This study aimed to (1) define the prevalence of vascular disease (VD; coronary (CAD) and/or peripheral artery disease (PAD)) and associated risk factors in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF); (2) establish the relationship of VD and associated treatment patterns on adverse events in AF. ⋯ VD was prevalent in almost two-fifths of AF patients. The incidence of MAE was higher in patients with VD on VKA (vs NOAC) and on triple therapy (vs dual therapy, OAC alone) within one-year follow-up.
