Agreement in dry eye management between optometrists and general practitioners in primary health care in the Netherlands.
To investigate the agreement in dry eye care management between general practitioners (GPs) and optometrists in the Netherlands. ⋯ As the optometrist and the GP are the gatekeepers for secondary healthcare, the fundamental differences in the methods of investigation and interpretation of dry eye-related symptoms, the possible cause of developing dry eye disease, and the therapy given by GPs and optometrists in the Netherlands, may have a significant impact on consistency of patient care.

Randomized Controlled TrialPain, wound healing and refractive comparison of mechanical and transepithelial debridement in photorefractive keratectomy for myopia: results of 1 year follow-up.
To compare the efficacy, safety and postoperative pain of mechanical versus transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) techniques. ⋯ t-PRK for mild-to-moderate myopia was more comfortable than conventional m-PRK; patients had less pain, and faster healing time.

Comparative StudyEthnic differences in dry eye symptoms: effects of corneal staining and length of contact lens wear.
To explore the relationships among length of contact lens (CL) wear, degree of corneal staining and severity of dryness symptoms, and to determine whether these relationships differ between Asians and non-Asians. ⋯ Asian soft CL wearers reported more severe dryness symptoms and demonstrated more severe corneal staining overall compared to non-Asians. Among non-Asians, dryness symptoms were less severe on average with increased years of CL wear and more severe in the presence of corneal staining. Dryness severity does not appear to be related to years of CL wear or corneal staining among Asians.

Randomized Controlled TrialHigh myopia-partial reduction orthokeratology (HM-PRO): study design.
To report the study design and preliminary results of a pilot study, High Myopia-Partial Reduction Orthokeratology study. ⋯ PR ortho-k was successfully applied to high myopic children with no significant changes in ocular health/best corrected visual acuity after one month of lens wear.

Case ReportsKeratoconus presenting with bilateral simultaneous acute corneal hydrops.
To report a case of unknown keratoconus presenting with bilateral simultaneous acute corneal hydrops. ⋯ Bilateral simultaneous acute corneal hydrops has not been reported before in the literature. It may be the presenting sign of keratoconus.
