Long-term results of limberg flap procedure for treatment of pilonidal sinus: a report of 200 cases.
In the past, various methods of surgical or nonsurgical treatment of sacrococcygeal pilonidal sinus have been used. The most common problem in the treatment of this disease is recurrence. In the present study, our aim was to determine the long-term results of the Limberg flap procedure. ⋯ The Limberg flap procedure is a good treatment choice for pilonidal sinus because of its low complication rate, the short time to return to normal activity, and good long-term results. This procedure has good postoperative results and is a comfortable surgical method for the patient.

Rubber band ligation is a common office procedure for symptomatic hemorrhoids. The aim of the study was to assess our short-term and long-term results of combined sclerotherapy and rubber band ligation in the management of hemorrhoids and incomplete mucosal prolapse. ⋯ Combined triple sclerotherapy and rubber band ligation is an effective treatment for early hemorrhoids and incomplete mucosal prolapse, with low rates of recurrence, complications, and hemorrhoidectomy, and it can be repeated easily.

The purpose of this study was to determine the outcome of patients with inflammatory bowel disease who underwent liver transplantation for primary sclerosing cholangitis. ⋯ The activity of inflammatory bowel disease after transplantation is highly variable. Patients appeared to lack knowledge of their increased risk for colorectal neoplasia. Colorectal cancer is an uncommon but important complication in patients after liver transplantation for primary sclerosing cholangitis, and ongoing surveillance is required. Patients may require education to increase their awareness of the cancer risk and compliance with surveillance.

The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of communication on rectal cancer patients' quality of life over four years. Previous studies have either used short follow-up periods or examined only certain aspects of quality of life, such as anxiety and depression. ⋯ Reports of unclear communication were associated with poorer quality of life in rectal cancer patients without disease progression.
