ReviewHysteroscopic tubal sterilization: a systematic review of the Essure system.
To update the evidence of the efficacy and safety of the Essure system. Female sterilization has undergone changes in the last decade. Besides laparoscopic tubal occlusion, the Essure system is now a viable option, with about 200,000 women sterilized using this method. ⋯ The Essure system appears to be safe, permanent, irreversible, and a less invasive method of contraception compared with laparoscopic sterilization.

Comparative StudyCan specific pain symptoms help in the diagnosis of endometriosis? A cohort study of women with chronic pelvic pain.
To investigate whether different dimensions of chronic pelvic pain are useful in the diagnosis of endometriosis. ⋯ Women with endometriosis are more likely to report their pain as throbbing and experience dyschezia when compared with women with an apparently normal pelvis. These dimensions of pain may usefully contribute to the diagnostic picture.
