The present study aims to investigate the effects of dexmedetomidine hydrochloride (Dex) on hemodynamics, postoperative analgesia and cognition in cesarean section. One hundred and two pregnant women who underwent cesarean section were selected from August 2016 to July 2017 in People's Hospital of Zhangqiu District and randomly divided into control group and observation group. Control group was anesthetized with bupivacaine hydrochloride, and morphine + ropivacaine hydrochloride were given postoperatively. ⋯ MoCA and MMSE scores of the observation group were better than that of control group at 1 day after operation (P<0.05). The use of Dex anesthesia in cesarean section can achieve more stable hemodynamic conditions during perioperative period and more obvious analgesic effect after operation. It also reduced the incidence of postoperative TNS and cognitive dysfunction, and had important clinical significance.

The serum triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cell (TREM)-like transcription factor-1 [soluble TREM-like transcript-1 (STLT-1)] and bilirubin levels were investigated in patients with acute coronary syndrome and the correlation with prognosis. A total of 125 patients of acute coronary syndrome admitted to the Department of Cardiology in People's Hospital of Rizhao were selected, including 45 cases with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), 36 cases with non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) and 44 cases with unstable angina pectoris (UAP), while 48 subjects were enrolled as the normal control. The serum STLT-1 and bilirubin levels on admission and on the 3rd, 7th and 10th day after admission of patients in each group were respectively determined, the level changes of these two indicators in serum during the initial stage of acute coronary syndrome were analyzed, and their effects on prognosis of patients were analyzed. ⋯ Bilirubin levels in groups STEMI, NSTEMI and UAP were lower than those in the normal control group, and serum levels of bilirubin in groups STEMI and NSTEMI were lower than those in group UAP. The proportions of complications in patients of groups STEMI and NSTEMI were significantly higher than those in group UAP (P<0.05). The results showed that the timely and effective treatment administered to patients with acute coronary syndrome during the initial stage to reduce the level of STLT-1 in serum and enhance bilirubin to a relatively high level is conducive in ameliorating the prognosis of patients, which is of clinical significance.

Biqi capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine preparation for treating rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and clinical studies have indicatedthat its effect may be more beneficial than that of Western medicine. The present study aimed to estimate the efficacy and safety of Biqi capsule alone or combined with methotrexate (MTX) compared with MTX alone for treating RA by performing a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials and controlled clinical trials. A systematic literature search of studies published until March 2017 was performed. ⋯ In the other words, Biqi capsule plus MTX is more effective and has fewer AEs compared to MTX. However, the trials selected in the present meta-analysis have various limitations, including the lack of blinding and the short duration of the treatment; therefore, the conclusions are not sufficiently definitive. More randomized controlled trials are necessary to evaluate the use of Biqi capsule for managing RA.

Immunomodulatory or immunosuppressive properties of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) facilitate the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome and acute lung injury (ALI). Dysregulated miRNA (miRNA or miR) expression associated with the effects of BM-MSCs was assessed in a rat model of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced ALI. The present study performed biochemical tests to assess five analytes, including alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), lactate, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and creatinine (CREA). ⋯ In summary, BM-MSCs improved multi-organ damage and attenuated lung injury. Different miRNA profiles were expressed following BM-MSC treatment of ALI. These dysregulated miRNAs participated in BM-MSC-mediated immunomodulation of ALI.

Mild hypothermia combined with minimally invasive hematoma evacuation was evaluated in the treatment of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage to reduce inflammatory response of brain tissue around hematoma and ameliorate brain function, and to investigate its safety, effectiveness and feasibility. A total of 206 patients with acute spontaneous hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage were collected clinically and randomly divided into minimally invasive hematoma evacuation group (group A) and mild hypothermia combined with minimally invasive hematoma evacuation (group B). The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score was used before and after treatment. ⋯ The serum TNF-α content and expression of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) in brain tissue around hematoma reached the peak on the 3rd day. The TNF-α content and NF-κB expression were lower in group B than those in group A at each time-point (P<0.05). Mild hypothermia combined with minimally invasive hematoma evacuation can reduce the damage of hematoma to the surrounding brain tissue, effectively alleviate inflammatory response and decrease brain tissue injury, thus ameliorating brain function.
