It has been widely reported that the expression levels of SNHG20 are elevated in diverse types of cancers, indicating that SNHG20 may participate in cancer initiation and development. Besides, accumulating evidence reveals that SNHG20 overexpression is also connected with poor clinical outcomes among cancer patients. Herein, we carry out a systematic meta-analysis to further determine the prognostic and clinical significance of SNHG20 expression in various human cancers. ⋯ Up-regulated SNHG20 expression is ubiquitous in different kinds of cancers. Moreover, up-regulated SNHG20 expression is capable of serving as an innovative predictive factor of inferior clinical outcomes in cancer patients. Nevertheless, higher-quality multicenter studies are required to corroborate our results.

Matrine has been reported to exert anti-tumor effects in multiple types of cancers containing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the anti-tumor molecular mechanisms of matrine in HCC is still not fully revealed. ⋯ Matrine inhibited cell development and tumorigenesis in HCC by increasing miR-345-5p and decreasing circ_0027345 and HOXD3.

Recurrence remains a major obstacle to long-term survival of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). We conducted a genome-wide integrated analysis of methylation and the transcriptome to establish methylation-driven genes prognostic signature (MDGPS) to precisely predict recurrence probability and optimize therapeutic strategies for LSCC. ⋯ A MDGPS, with five DNA MDGs, was identified and validated in LSCC patients by combining transcriptome and methylation datasets analysis. Compared TNM stage alone, it generates more accurate estimations of the recurrence prediction and maybe offer novel research directions and prospects for individualized treatment of patients with LSCC.

Although previous studies have evaluated the prognostic role of the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in patients with breast cancer, the results were inconsistent. Therefore, in this context, we aimed to identify the prognostic and clinicopathological value of the SII in patients with breast cancer by performing a meta-analysis. ⋯ The results of our meta-analysis suggest that an elevated SII predicts poor survival outcomes and is associated with clinicopathological features that indicate tumor progression of breast cancer.

Non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the common cancers in the world. Circular RNA 0072083 (circ_0072083, circZFR) has been reported to be associated with the progression of NSCLC. In this study, we intended to explore the role and the potential mechanism of circ_0072083 in NSCLC. ⋯ Circ_0072083 depletion contributed to DDP-triggered inhibition of NSCLC tumor through miR-545-3p/CBLL1 axis.
