Randomized Controlled TrialEfficiency of postoperative pain management after gynecologic oncological surgeries with the use of morphine + acetaminophen + ketoprofen versus morphine + metamizol + ketoprofen.
Surgical treatment used in gynecological oncology involves acute postoperative pain which requires efficient treatment. This study covered a group of 128 patients who were randomly divided into two groups. In the postoperative period patients in group I were administered morphine subcutaneously, acetaminophen intravenously and naproxen per rectum. ⋯ In group I after the administration of morphine and acetaminophen 22 patients (34.37%) needed additional doses of ketoprofen. In group II 33 women (51.56%) required ketoprofen after the administration of morphine and metamizole (N1 = 22 vs N2 = 33, p < 0.05). The use of metamizol with morphine (without ketoprofen) gave worse analgesic results than acetaminophen with morphine, but the combination of morphine, acetaminophen and ketoprofen or morphine, metamizol and ketoprofen gave satisfactory analgesic results.

Case ReportsRobotically-assisted laparoscopic radical parametrectomy and radical vaginectomy.
Radical parametrectomy is a technically challenging operation used for women found to have occult cervix cancer after a hysterectomy for benign reasons. A similar operation, radical vaginectomy, is rarely performed because of the its technical difficulty in getting adequate margins without an attached uterus. ⋯ Robotically-assisted laparoscopic radical paremetrectomy and vaginectomy are both technically feasible procedures.

Diagnostic test for ovarian cancer composed of ovarian cancer symptom index, menopausal status and ovarian cancer antigen CA125.
The objective of the study was to evaluate accuracy of the diagnostic test composed of the ovarian cancer symptom index, ovarian cancer antigen CA125 and menopausal status. ⋯ The ovarian cancer symptom index could be used as a first-step screening tool in combination with serum biomarkers followed by TVS examination with an acceptable sensitivity and specificity. However, further prospective studies with larger sample size are needed to reach clear conclusions.

Case ReportsUse of surgical sealant in debulking surgery for advanced ovarian carcinoma--case report.
Haemostatic sealants are frequently used in gynaecological surgery. Several commercial products are available with similar mechanisms of action and chemical structure. We report the use of Floseal in a laparotomy for ovarian cancer to achieve haemostasis. This is the first reported case with the successful use of Floseal in gynaecological oncology.

Case ReportsSmall cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the cervix: report of two cases.
Small cell neuroendocrine tumor of the cervix is a rare malignancy with aggressive behavior. Metastases and recurrent disease are frequent and multimodal therapy is commonly used. ⋯ Two cases of small cell neuroendocrine tumor of the uterine cervix are reported. We describe the clinical course, diagnostic methods and examine treatments applied and survival.
