Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyComparison between operative and nonoperative treatment methods in the management of comminuted fractures of the clavicle.
To evaluate the outcome and satisfaction of closed treatment versus open reduction and internal fixation in comminuted clavicular fractures. ⋯ Open reduction and internal fixation of comminuted fractures of the clavicle using a reconstruction plate is an effective treatment modality. Despite the variety of complications, this method has a higher satisfaction rate than conservative treatment.

Comparative StudyValidation of the Turkish version of the visual analog scale spine score in patients with spinal fractures.
The visual analog scale spine score (VASSS) is a valid and reliable instrument for outcome assessment of patients with thoracic and lumbar spine fractures. The aim of this study was to prepare a Turkish version of the VASSS and to validate its use for assessing treatment outcomes in Turkish patients with spinal trauma. ⋯ The Turkish version of the VASSS is a reliable and valid instrument to assess the outcome in patients with thoracic or lumbar spinal fractures in the Turkish population.

Comparative StudyFixation of femoral neck fractures with three screws: results and complications.
To evaluate the results and complications of femoral neck fractures treated with internal fixation with three screws with an average follow-up of three years. ⋯ Operative treatment with internal fixation using three screws in femoral neck fractures in the first 24 hours after a fracture gives favourable results in young patients that are too young to be considered for arthroplasty.

Comparative StudyA new technique in the treatment of distal radius fractures: the Micronail®.
In 2006, an intramedullar titanium osteosynthesis for the stabilization of distal radius fractures was introduced in The Netherlands: the Micronail®. The Micronail® can be used in approximately 30% of distal radius fracture treatments. This article presents the introduction of this new treatment, and first clinical results. ⋯ The first results of Micronail® are promising. It has the advantages of other operative techniques (minimally invasive, stable, intramedullar) without their known disadvantages. Short immobilization is sufficient, after which full load-carrying exercises are indicated.

A new index for the assessment of distal radius fractures involving the ulnar styloid.
The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the relation between a new index we created for the assessment of distal radius fractures involving the ulnar styloid, and the clinical outcome. ⋯ Our results suggested that the RSI can be used as a predictor of the clinical outcome in patients with distal radius fractures involving the ulnar styloid.
