[Superfluous computed tomography utilization for the evaluation of the pelvis and spinal column in an orthopedic emergency department].
This study was designed to investigate the frequency of requests for computed tomography (CT) examination of the spinal column and pelvis in our emergency orthopedic department, the reasons of requests, and the rates of positive and negative CT examinations. ⋯ The high incidence of negative CT scans documented for pelvic and spinal column examinations underlines the need for measures to avoid superfluous CT requests in emergency departments.

[Surgical treatment of unstable fracture-dislocations of the proximal interphalangeal joint].
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of surgical treatment of unstable fracture-dislocations of the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint. ⋯ Treatment of fracture-dislocations of the PIP joint yields successful results with mini screws in early cases or appropriate injuries, and with soft tissue reconstruction with or without mini screws in late-presenting patients or unfavorable injuries.

Randomized Controlled Trial[The use of arthroscopic debridement and viscosupplementation in knee osteoarthritis].
We investigated the effectiveness of arthroscopic debridement followed by viscosupplementation using different hyaluronic acid (HA) products in selected patients with knee osteoarthritis. ⋯ Our results suggest that arthroscopic debridement combined with viscosupplementation is an effective treatment option for selected patients with knee osteoarthritis.

[Evaluation of prognostic factors affecting recurrences and disease-free survival in extra-abdominal desmoid tumors].
We investigated treatment results and the role of potential prognostic factors in patients treated by surgery with or without adjuvant radiotherapy for primary or recurrent extra-abdominal desmoid tumors. ⋯ In our series, no prognostic factor could be identified as having an association with the high recurrence rate.

[Prognostic factors in patients with malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the extremities].
We evaluated prognostic factors in patients with malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the extremity. ⋯ Patients with high-grade malignant fibrous histiocytoma have a poorer prognosis.
