Comparative StudyPositional alterations of the Kambin's triangle and foraminal areas in the lumbosacral region.
The aim of this anatomical study was to compare the effects of the prone and lateral decubitus positions in endoscopic disc surgery on the Kambin's triangle (KT) and neural foramina zones in the lumbosacral region. ⋯ The KTA is wider in the lateral decubitus position than in the prone position at the levels of L4-L5 and L5-S1.

Utilization of the bicipital groove axis for confirming alignment of the humerus with transepicondylar and ulnar shaft axes during intramedullary nailing.
Intramedullary nailing is the preferred surgical treatment of humerus shaft fractures. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the bicipital groove and specific anatomical landmarks in achieving correct alignment of the humerus during intramedullary nailing, and to describe these anatomical landmarks. ⋯ Measurement and utilization of the relationship between the bicipital groove, ulna diaphysis and transepicondylar axes may be used for restoring humeral rotation.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyDo timing of injection and status of the suction drain effect postoperative pain scores after intra-articular bupivacaine injection in arthroscopic ACL reconstruction?
The aim of this study was to determine if the timing of intra-articular local anesthetic injection and the status of the suction drain affect variable pain scores after ACL reconstruction. ⋯ Intra-articular bupivacaine injection at different stages of the operation yielded variable VAS scores in the postoperative period. Closing the drain after intra-articular injection resulted in an early onset analgesic effect without shortening the duration.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of intra-articular levobupivacaine, fentanyl-levobupivacaine and tramadol-levobupivacaine for postoperative pain in arthroscopic knee surgery.
The aim of this study was to compare the postoperative analgesic efficacy of intra-articularly injected levobupivacaine, levobupivacaine-fentanyl, and levobupivacaine-tramadol combinations. ⋯ The results indicated that levobupivacaine combined with either fentanyl or tramadol decreased rescue analgesic requirements when compared to levobupivacaine alone.

Biomechanical outcome of proximal femoral nail antirotation is superior to proximal femoral locking compression plate for reverse oblique intertrochanteric fractures: a biomechanical study of intertrochanteric fractures.
Reverse obliquity intertrochanteric fractures are a challenge for orthopedic surgeons. The optimal internal fixation for repairing this type of unstable intertrochanteric fractures remains controversial. This study aimed to compare the biomechanical properties in axial load and cyclical axial load of proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) and proximal femoral locking compression plate (PFLCP) for fixation of reverse obliquity intertrochanteric fractures. ⋯ For fixing reverse obliquity intertrochanteric fractures, PFNA is superior to PFLCP under axial load.
