Electroacupuncture on ST36 and GB39 Acupoints Inhibits Synovial Angiogenesis via Downregulating HIF-1α/VEGF Expression in a Rat Model of Adjuvant Arthritis.
Introduction. The hypoxia inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) play a key role in synovial angiogenesis in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Therefore, this study aimed to test the hypothesis that electroacupuncture (EA) may inhibit RA synovial angiogenesis via HIF-1α/VEGF expression. ⋯ Finally, the CD34 expression in synovial tissue was positively correlated with HIF-1α and VEGF protein levels. Conclusion. EA on ST36 and GB39 acupoints can effectively inhibit synovial angiogenesis in the AA rat model via downregulating HIF-1α/VEGF expression.

ReviewMa-Huang-Fu-Zi-Xi-Xin Decoction for Allergic Rhinitis: A Systematic Review.
The treatment effects and safety of Ma-Huang-Fu-Zi-Xi-Xin decoction for patients with allergic rhinitis have yet to be clarified. ⋯ Six randomized controlled trials (RCTs) involving 576 participants (10-78 years old) were included. A meta-analysis revealed that the overall effect of MHFZXXD for AR was not better than western medical treatment (RR: 0.41; 95% CI: 0.26-0.65; P = 0.0001) for all included studies. However, the evidence quality of these western medical intervention studies was low or very low due to a high risk of bias, small sample sizes, and poor-quality design.

ReviewNormative Application of Xiyanping Injection: A Systematic Review of Adverse Case Reports.
To summarize the characteristics and the relevant factors and to give references for preventing adverse drug reactions (ADRs) associated with xiyanping (XYP), we provide a systematic review of adverse case reports about XYP. ⋯ Clinicians and patients are supposed to obey the package insert of XYP in clinical application. Through the results of XYP, normalization of ADR reports is also worthy of attention. High-quality researches are required to improve the drug instruction and evaluate the safety of XYP in effective diseases and different age groups. Mechanism of ADRs aiming at the hypersensitivity and the drug combination should still be further identified.
