ReviewThe Effects of Salvia miltiorrhiza on Reproduction and Metabolism in Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age. As a traditional medicine, Salvia miltiorrhiza (S. miltiorrhiza) has been widely used in the treatment of many gynecological diseases, but the efficacy of S. miltiorrhiza in women with PCOS has not been assessed. The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of S. miltiorrhiza in women with PCOS. ⋯ The current studies indicate that S. miltiorrhiza has beneficial effects on reproduction and glucose and lipid metabolism in patients with PCOS, and it is generally safe for clinical application. However, more prospective RCTs with large samples, multiple centers, and longer intervention duration are needed in the future to obtain more reliable conclusions.

ReviewInvestigation on the Efficiency of Tonic Chinese Herbal Injections for Treating Dilated Cardiomyopathy Based on Bayesian Network Meta-Analysis.
This network meta-analysis investigated the efficacy of six tonic Chinese herbal injections (Huangqi injection, Shenfu injection, Shengmai injection, Shenmai injection, Shenqi Fuzheng injection, and Yiqifumai injection) compared to Western medicine for the treatment of the deteriorating state associated with dilated cardiomyopathy. ⋯ Shenfu injection plus Western medicine may be a preferable treatment in dilated cardiomyopathy. Clinicians should also consider the specific patient's various conditions when making diagnostic decisions. Due to an insufficient network meta-analysis, more high-quality RCTs need to be implemented to support our conclusions.

ReviewThe Quality of Methodological and Reporting in Network Meta-Analysis of Acupuncture and Moxibustion: A Cross-Sectional Survey.
Acupuncture had long been a primary treatment in the healthcare system of China. In recent years, there were more and more network meta-analyses (NMAs) in the field of acupuncture and moxibustion, but the quality evaluation of NMAs was rare. ⋯ The number of NMAs in the field of acupuncture and moxibustion was still in the initial stage. Overall, their methodology and reports were of moderate quality. However, severe flaws also existed in some items. Because the eligible NMAs were limited, the conclusion needed further research to confirm its authenticity and reliability.

A Network Pharmacology Approach to Reveal the Underlying Mechanisms of Artemisia annua on the Treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma.
To investigate the potential active ingredients and underlying mechanisms of Artemisia annua (AA) on the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) based on network pharmacology. ⋯ The anticancer effects of AA on HCC were predicted to be associated with regulating tumor cell proliferation, apoptosis, angiogenesis, tumor invasion, and metastasis via various pathways such as the EGFR signaling pathway, ESR1 signaling pathway, and CCND1 signaling pathway. It is suggested that AA might be developed as a broad-spectrum antitumor drug based on its characteristics of multicomponent, multipath, and multitarget.

The Clinical Efficiency and the Mechanism of Sanzi Yangqin Decoction for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
This work is carried out to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Sanzi Yangqin decoction (SZYQD) treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and to analyze its mechanism. The clinical efficacy of SZYQD treating COPD was evaluated by meta-analysis, and its mechanism was analyzed by network pharmacology. Molecular docking validation of the main active compounds and the core targets was performed by AutoDock vina software. ⋯ Molecular docking demonstrated that luteolin in SZYQD showed the strongest binding activity to core targets. Experimental results revealed that the expression of COPD-related targets in lung tissue was significantly increased in the COPD group and was improved in the luteolin group. Our data indicated that SZYQD has a curative effect on COPD and luteolin is a candidate compound for COPD treatment by regulating EGFR, MMP9, PTGS2, MMP2, APP, and ERBB2.
