Meningioma without dural attachment: case report, classification, and review of the literature.
The primary occurrences of meningiomas without attachment to the dura are rare. Clinical considerations and pathophysiologic mechanisms about these tumors have not been sufficiently explored, and a complete classification has not been accomplished. ⋯ According to sites of the tumor, supratentorial meningiomas without dural attachment are classified into 5 varieties, and posterior fossa meningiomas without dural attachment into 4 categories. Except for intraventricular ones, meningiomas without dural attachment predominantly occur in males. The average age is about 20 years younger than that of meningiomas in general. Fibroblastic meningiomas constitute the major subtype. Intraparenchymal or subcortical meningiomas should be considered as one type, which may arise from arachnoid cells of the pia mater within brain sulcus.

Bilateral high-level percutaneous cervical cordotomy in cancer pain due to lung cancer: a case report.
Computed tomography-guided high-level percutaneous cordotomy has been used unilaterally or bilaterally for the treatment of localized intractable pain in malignancies. ⋯ The CT-guided bilateral high-level percutaneous cordotomy can be used in the treatment of intractable upper trunk pain in patients with cancer without pulmonary dysfunction.

Little is written about the clinical outcome and predictor factors of obliteration and treatment success in patients with intracranial AVMs treated with LINAC-based conformal radiosurgery in Mexican institutions. ⋯ The clinical outcome was similar to other series. The RBAS seems to be a good predictor of obliteration and successful treatment in patients with AVMs treated with LINAC-based conformal radiosurgery.

Spinal cord/root compression is a rare complication of HL and usually seen in the setting of progressive, advanced disease. It is extremely rare to occur as an initial presentation of HL. We report a case of HL presented with bilateral cervical radiculopathy. ⋯ Chemoradiotherapy is a successful treatment for Hodgkin's disease presenting with spinal root compression. Surgery should be reserved for urgent decompression, if needed; palliation; and maintenance of function and stability.

Tentorial dural arteriovenous fistula is uncommon but is a life-threatening lesion. We present our experience with 5 patients with TDAVFs, review the relevant literature, and present the rationale of our current management strategy. ⋯ Tentorial dural arteriovenous fistulas are aggressive vascular lesions causing SAH and progressive neurologic deficits. Prompt diagnosis and definite treatment are mandatory. Obliteration of the fistulas and/or leptomeningeal venous drainage should be the goal of treatment. Microsurgical procedures with/without endovascular intervention are the best choice of treatment.
