Vascular anomalies in the form of dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs), arteriovenous malformations, and aneurysms are well described in the literature. Pial arteriovenous fistulas (PAVFs) are described to a lesser extent in the literature. When these anomalies are combined, diagnosis and treatment become complex. ⋯ The exact mechanism of PAVF/DAVF formation is unknown. Hemorrhage predilection of PAVF/DAVF is more difficult to predict than a sole fistula, likely secondary to the complex flow dynamics. To our knowledge, this literature review is the largest review to date regarding PAVFs in adult patients and can provide insight into decision making when evaluating treatment options.

Anterior Column Realignment has Similar Results to Pedicle Subtraction Osteotomy in Treating Adults with Sagittal Plane Deformity.
Anterior column realignment (ACR) is a minimally invasive surgical technique used for the correction of adult sagittal plane deformity. ACR is performed via a minimally invasive lateral transpsoas approach with anterior longitudinal ligament release and hyperlordotic cage placement. The objective of this study was to compare radiographic outcomes and complications in patients treated by ACR or Pedicle subtraction osteotomy (PSO). ⋯ ACR achieved similar radiographic results as PSO in a matched cohort with significantly less estimated blood loss and similar overall complication rate.

Medulloblastoma with atypical dynamic imaging changes: A case report with literature review.
We analyzed a case of medulloblastoma with atypical dynamic imaging changes retrospectively to summarize the atypical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of medulloblastoma by reviewing the literature. ⋯ The radiologic characteristics of atypical medulloblastomas vary in adults and children. Understanding the radiologic characteristics of medulloblastomas, such as MRI features, age of onset, and location of atypical medulloblastomas, can help improve the diagnosis of medulloblastomas.

To investigate the prognostic value of preoperative Nurick grade and time with symptoms for gait improvement and recovery in patients with ataxia secondary to cervical myelopathy. ⋯ Patients with a greater preoperative Nurick grade and symptoms for more than 12 months may have significantly lower odds of experiencing gait improvement or gait recovery after surgery for cervical myelopathy. This study's conclusion favors early intervention in patients with cervical myelopathy.
