Bruns nystagmus is a form of jerk nystagmus that has a localizing value in cerebellopontine angle (CPA) tumors. Hemangioblastomas involving the CPA is rare. ⋯ The nystagmus was compatible with the laterality of the tumor. High quality video of Bruns nystagmus was recorded.

Rescue Intracranial Balloon Angioplasty with or without Stent Placement in Acute Strokes with Intracranial Atherosclerotic Disease.
Optimal management of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) secondary to intracranial atherosclerotic disease (ICAD) refractory to conventional mechanical thrombectomy remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the clinical outcome of patients undergoing rescue intracranial balloon angioplasty with or without stent placement in the setting of AIS in our institution. ⋯ Rescue angioplasty with or without stenting can lead to significant clinical improvement in patients with ICAD presenting with ELVO and refractory to thrombectomy; however, this procedure is associated with a high rate of morbidity in acute setting.

More than one third of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients do not recover to functional independence even if endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) is performed rapidly and successfully. This suggests that angiographic recanalization does not necessarily lead to tissue reperfusion. Although recognition of reperfusion status after EVT is pivotal for optimal postoperative management, reperfusion imaging assessment immediately after recanalization has not been fully investigated. The present study aimed to evaluate whether reperfusion status based on parenchymal blood volume (PBV) assessment after angiographic recanalization influences infarct growth and functional outcome in patients who have undergone EVT following AIS. ⋯ Poor reperfusion in severely hypoperfused territories on PBV mapping immediately after recanalization may predict infarct growth and unfavorable prognosis in patients who undergo EVT following AIS.

Adequate epidural procedures and anatomical knowledge are essential for the technical success of skull base surgery. We evaluated the usefulness of our three-dimensional (3D) model of the anterior and middle cranial fossa as a learning tool in improving knowledge of anatomy and surgical approaches, including skull base drilling and dura matter peeling techniques. ⋯ This model was designed to facilitate teaching anatomical knowledge and essential epidural procedure-related skills. It was shown to be useful for teaching essential elements of skull-base surgery.

Brain metastases (BMs) are the most common expansive intracranial lesions in adults. Approximately 50% of patients diagnosed with new BMs will have >1 BM at the diagnosis. We report our experience with BMs treated with Leksell Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery (GKSR) and evaluate the outcomes. ⋯ GKSR provides good results in terms of OS and better quality of life for patients with BMs, whether single or multiple. Tumor stability and retreatment influenced the OS of patients with BMs.
