Seizures are one of the complications that can occur after cranioplasty (CP). In some regions, titanium mesh remains the material of choice for CP. However, risk factors for seizures after titanium CP have been less studied. The purpose of this study was to identify potential risk factors for early seizures (≤7 days) and late seizures (>8 days) after titanium CP in a single institution. ⋯ Seizure is a common complication after titanium CP, especially in patients who do not receive prophylactic antiepileptic drugs before the procedure. Risk factors for new-onset seizures at different periods after titanium CP were found to be different. In addition, radiologic factors before titanium CP may play a role in early new-onset seizures after titanium CP and should not be ignored.

Impact of Prevention Strategies on Quality of Life in Patients with Osteoarthritis: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.
To evaluate the impact of prevention strategies on the quality of life in patients with osteoarthritis (OA) through a comprehensive analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). ⋯ This meta-analysis provides evidence that prevention strategies, particularly enhanced exercise or education, have a positive impact on the quality of life in patients with OA. Despite the observed benefits, the overall quality of evidence is limited, highlighting the need for larger, well-designed trials to strengthen the evidence base. These findings underscore the importance of implementing effective prevention strategies in the management of OA to improve patient outcomes and enhance their quality of life. Further research is warranted to optimize the selection and implementation of prevention strategies for OA patients.

Clinical characteristics and surgical outcomes of 2542 patients with spinal schwannomas: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
This study was conducted to systematically analyze the data on the clinical features, surgical treatment, and outcomes of spinal schwannomas. ⋯ Our analysis suggests that segmental back pain, sensory/motor deficits, and urinary dysfunction are the most common symptoms of spinal schwannomas. Surgical resection is the treatment of choice with overall good reported outcomes and particularly low complication rates. gross total resection offers the best prognosis with the slightest chance of tumor recurrence and minimal risk of complications.

Optic nerve sheath diameter sonography for the diagnosis of intracranial hypertension in Traumatic brain injury: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Timely diagnosis and management of elevated intracranial pressure (ICP) in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) can significantly reduce mortality rates. Ultrasound examination of the optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) is considered a potential, noninvasive, and effective method for assessing ICP. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of ONSD ultrasound detection and invasive ICP monitoring methods to compare and evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of ONSD ultrasound detection methods for intracranial hypertension (IH) in patients with TBI. ⋯ ONSD sonography may be a useful method for predicting increased ICP in adult patients with TBI. Further clinical studies are required to confirm the diagnostic value of ONSD sonography.

Low back pain (LBP) is a common pathology, and its high prevalence has led to the emergence of alternative options that have gained popularity without objective epidemiological evaluations. This work seeks to clarify the utility of ozone in the treatment of LBP. ⋯ The treatment of LBP is complex. Advancements have been made in recent years from biomechanical and pathophysiological perspectives, but ozone therapy is not considered a treatment option. Techniques that involve the use of ozone fall into the category of empirical options. International guidelines for LBP exclude ozone therapy. It is advisable to conduct further studies under strict parameters to better evaluate its outcomes.
