[Salpingotomy vs salpingectomy--a comparison of women's fertility after surgical treatment of tubal ectopic pregnancy during a 24-month follow-up study].
Ectopic pregnancy (EP) is usually located in the Fallopian tube and it has a significant adverse effect on womens fertility Three types of EP treatment include: expectant, medical, and surgical radical (salpingectomy) or conservative (salpingotomy) management. ⋯ Our findings are consistent with the literature which reports a trend of higher odds for intrauterine pregnancy after salpingotomy for surgical treatment of EP as compared to salpingectomy Moreover the risk for recurrent tubal EP is comparable for both methods. Regardless, the decision about the operating range in case of EP always depends on the actual clinical state of the patient.

Estimated breast cancer risk and screening outcomes among premenopausal women with non-cyclic mastalgia.
Breast pain is a common but worrisome symptom, which can cause a significant psychological burden of cancer stress. It is not known whether breast cancer risk estimation models can be used as an adjunct to the clinical and radiological assessment in counseling women with mastalgia. The aim of our study was to compare the estimated breast cancer risk and screening outcomes between patients with mastalgia and women requesting prophylactic examinations. ⋯ Breast pain was associated with lower estimated breast cancer risk but had no effect on screening outcomes in the study population.

Trisomy 21, 18 and 13 are the most common trisomies diagnosed in newborns. Screening methods consist of ultrasound and maternal serum markers. High risk for fetal aneuploidies is an indication for routine karyotyping, which requires collection of fetal tissue through amniocentesis or chorionic villous sampling. ⋯ The discovery of cell free fetal DNA (cffDNA) in maternal blood offered new opportunities for noninvasive prenatal diagnosis. The fraction of cell-free fetal DNA in total pool of cell-free DNA in maternal plasma is very low, therefore the analysis of cffDNA is very challenging. The introduction of massive parallel sequencing has enabled the application of noninvasive prenatal testing in the clinical practice and a variety of recent studies have proven its high efficacy in diagnosing common aneuploidies.

Iatrogenic and spontaneous late preterm twins--which are at higher risk of neonatal complications?
To evaluate data regarding neonatal mortality and short term morbidity among iatrogenic late preterm (ILP) and spontaneous late preterm (SLP) twin births, and to estimate whether medical interventions - induction of labor in this particular context, are associated with better or poorer outcomes. ⋯ Late prematurity in twin pregnancies is associated with higher risk of neonatal morbidity than in term twins. Iatrogenic late preterm birth increases the risk of NICU admission and respiratory disorders in neonates in comparison to spontaneous late preterm birth. Despite the fact that respiratory complications are generally mild and mostly temporary there is a need for careful evaluation of indications for delivery in that particular group.
