People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) may be at higher risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19. ⋯ COVID-19 appears to present a greater risk to people with IDD, especially those living in congregate settings. A full understanding of the severity of this risk will not be possible until US states begin publicly sharing all relevant data they have on COVID-19 outcomes among this population.

Cross-lagged longitudinal analysis of pain intensity and sleep disturbance.
There is substantial evidence that pain intensity and sleep are related, with findings generally suggesting more support for the influence of sleep on pain intensity than vice versa. However, the strength and direction of the relationship has been found to vary among different populations, with few studies in individuals with chronic physical disabilities. ⋯ The relationship between pain intensity and sleep disturbance appears bi-directional, but the effects are small in a sample of individuals with long-term disabilities. The temporal effects of pain on sleep disturbance appear stronger than the effects of sleep disturbance on pain intensity. Future research is needed to better understand this relationship in the context of pain and/or sleep disturbance treatments.

Patient at Risk (PAR) is an online database using an emergency information form (EIF) that parents of children with special health care needs (CSHCN) complete to store their child's medical information. Emergency medical service (EMS) providers can then access PAR during medical emergencies or for pre-planning. PAR was active for over 10 years but use by patients and EMS was limited. ⋯ Despite technological and logistical barriers, EMS providers want online EIF databases for pre-planning and utilization during ambulance runs so they can practice more informed and focused care, especially for vulnerable and medically challenging CSHCN.

Park-based physical activity (PA) interventions improve health in the general population, but it is unknown if the evidence can be translated to persons with disabilities. ⋯ Health benefits from park use in persons with disabilities were identified. Parks may provide an alternative environment for rehabilitation and management of disabilities. Further randomized controlled trials evaluating the long-term effectiveness of park-based interventions is necessary to corroborate our findings. Legislative commitment ensuring urban parks are accessible may mitigate some health disparities in persons with disabilities.

Experiences of persons with spinal cord injury undertaking a physical activity programme as part of the SCIPA 'Full-On' randomized controlled trial.
For individuals with spinal cord injury the long term benefits of physical activity are well documented, however the majority of this population report inactivity secondary to participatory barriers. Research investigating physically intensive exercise programs for people with spinal cord injury is limited, with even less attention paid to the experience of the participants. ⋯ This study provides valuable information on factors that motivate participation in physical activity for individuals with spinal cord injury, within a research setting. The findings highlighted the importance of accessibility and a supportive network which may be a way to provide individuals with spinal cord injury the means to become self-efficacious to participate in community physical activity outside of the research environment.
