Observational StudyInfluence of auto-cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel on pregnancy rate and hysteroscopic outcomes following surgical removal of intra-uterine adhesions.
To determine the effect of the use of auto-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (ACP) gel following hysteroscopic surgery on the prevention of intra-uterine adhesions (IUAs) and the pregnancy rate. ⋯ Application of ACP gel did not prevent recurrence of IUAs and was not associated with an increased pregnancy rate. ACP gel should be used with caution pending assessment in a randomized control trial in a larger population.

ReviewTechniques to reduce blood loss during open myomectomy: a qualitative review of literature.
Open myomectomy is the most adopted surgical strategy in the conservative treatment of uterine fibroids. According to several studies, the likelihood that a woman could develop uterine myomas is estimated around 75% by the age of 50. ⋯ Many strategies have been published with the aim of limiting intra and post-operative bleeding complications. The scope of this review is to describe in detail the different techniques reported in literature focusing on their validity and safety.

Risk factors for preterm delivery: do they add to fetal fibronectin testing and cervical length measurement in the prediction of preterm delivery in symptomatic women?
To assess whether patient characteristics add to the fetal fibronectin test and cervical length measurement in the prediction of preterm delivery in symptomatic women. ⋯ In women with symptoms of preterm labour before 34 weeks gestation, a model that integrates maternal characteristics, clinical signs and laboratory tests, did not predict delivery within 7 days better than a model with only fibronectin and cervical length.

Multicenter Study Comparative Study Observational StudyThe association of skin-incision type at cesarean with maternal and neonatal morbidity for women with multiple prior cesarean deliveries.
In women with multiple prior cesarean deliveries (CDs), vertical skin incisions are thought by some to result in better outcomes. The objective of this study was to compare maternal and neonatal outcomes according to the type of skin incisions among women with multiple prior CDs. ⋯ Vertical skin incision at the time of multiple repeat CD was not associated with better obstetric or perinatal outcomes and was associated among women with ≥4 prior CDs with a higher frequency of prolonged hospitalization and adverse maternal outcomes.

Outcome following selective fetoscopic laser ablation for twin to twin transfusion syndrome: an 8 year national collaborative experience.
With the recognition of the role of fetoscopic laser ablation for twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), there is a requirement for auditable standards for this technically challenging and specialized treatment. The purpose of this study is to report on the perinatal and medium-term neurodevelopmental outcomes following an 8-year national single center experience in the management of TTTS using the selective fetoscopic laser ablation technique. ⋯ Fetoscopic laser ablation is the established optimal treatment for severe twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS). We report comparable short and medium-term outcomes following the selective fetoscopic technique comparing results from our national program with internationally published single-center outcomes, supporting the efficacy and safety of this treatment at our center.
