The American Board of Medical Specialties recognized addiction medicine (ADM) as a subspecialty in 2016, which was timely given the recent rise in substance use disorder (SUD). The impact of this dual board opportunity on Family Medicine has not been described. Our study enumerates and characterizes physicians dually certified in Family Medicine and ADM. ⋯ While only a small proportion of family physicians carry dual ADM board certification, those that do disproportionately serve vulnerable populations while retaining broad scope of care. Further work is needed to examine whether SUD treatment access could be addressed by implementing models that support dually certified physicians in consultative and educational efforts that would amplify their impact across the primary care workforce.

Black men are disproportionately impacted by prostate cancer. Guidelines agree that Black men should make informed decisions about whether to engage in prostate cancer screening. YouTube is widely used among Black men and impacts understanding of health conditions. ⋯ The overall quality of videos about prostate cancer screening in Black men is poor, including those with Black presenters. Clinicians should be aware of potential misinformation that Black patients receive from YouTube and the opportunity to improve the quality of available information about prostate cancer screening in Black men.

To compare rural independent and health system primary care practices with urban practices to external practice facilitation support in terms of recruitment, readiness, engagement, retention, and change in quality improvement (QI) capacity and quality metric performance. ⋯ Investing practice facilitation and sustained QI strategies in rural independent practices, where the need is high and resources are low, will yield benefits that outweigh centrally prescribed models.

Bellin Health in Wisconsin has pioneered the colocation and integration of physical therapists into primary care pods. ⋯ The Bellin Health program is a blueprint for other primary care practices to integrate physical therapists into primary care teams.

Family Medicine Research on Health Equity, Addiction, and Eating Breakfast-Just for Starters.
As usual, this issue of the journal delivers reports on a broad range of topics that can inform clinical practice. Several articles address equity, or the lack thereof, in health care. This includes research on the social determinants of health and how family medicine can contribute to redressing inequity. ⋯ Several articles discuss ongoing changes or changes to family medicine on the horizon. Readers will find some well-written clinical reviews and an in-depth review of international practice-based research networks. Lastly, 2 great reads will remind readers how it feels to practice family medicine.
