To evaluate the relationships among patient characteristics, irradiation treatment planning parameters, and treatment toxicity of acute radiation dermatitis (RD) after breast hybrid intensity modulation radiation therapy (IMRT). The study cohort consisted of 95 breast cancer patients treated with hybrid IMRT. RD grade ≥2 (2+) toxicity was defined as clinically significant. ⋯ Additional potential predictive patient characteristics were energy and surgery, but the results were not statistically significant. To ensure a better quality of life and compliance for breast hybrid IMRT patients, the skin volume receiving a dose >35 Gy should be limited to <85.7 mL to keep the incidence of RD grade 2+ toxicities below 50%. To avoid RD toxicity, the volume of skin receiving a dose >35 Gy should follow sparing tolerance and the inherent patient characteristics should be considered.

Colorectal cancer is diagnosed progressively in employed patients due to screening programs and increasing retirement age. The objective of this study was to identify prognostic factors for return to work and work disability in patients with colorectal cancer. ⋯ Health care professionals need to be aware of these prognostic factors to select patients eligible for timely intensified rehabilitation in order to optimize the return to work process and prevent work disability.

Psychoactive substances are often regarded as causal factors contributing to violent injuries, sexual abuse and homicides. While these effects have been demonstrated for some substances (e.g. cocaine), current available data for others are more controversial (e.g. cannabis) or very limited (e.g. ecstasy). ⋯ Cannabis and cocaine were, besides alcohol, the substances most often reported in ED presentations related to offences of violence. Because of the high prevalence of alcohol co-use, no final conclusions can be drawn on the contribution of single substances.

Rapid and substantial increases in anticoagulant use and expenditure in Australia following the introduction of new types of oral anticoagulants.
To quantify changes in anticoagulant use in Australia since the introduction of Non-vitamin K antagonist anticoagulants (NOACs) and to estimate government expenditure. ⋯ The introduction of the NOACs led to substantial increases in anticoagulant use and expenditure in Australia.

Auxin response factors (ARF) are important transcription factors which mediate the transcription of auxin responsive genes by binding directly to auxin response elements (AuxREs) found in the promoter regions of these genes. To date, no information has been available about the genome-wide organization of the ARF transcription factor family in physic nut. In this study, 17 ARF genes (JcARFs) are identified in the physic nut genome. ⋯ Of the 17 JcARF genes, eight are predicted to be the potential targets of small RNAs; most of the genes show differential patterns of expression among four tissues (root, stem cortex, leaf, and seed); and qRT-PCR indicates that the expression of all JcARF genes is inhibited or induced in response to exogenous auxin. Expression profile analysis based on RNA-seq data shows that in leaves, 11 of the JcARF genes respond to at least one abiotic stressor (drought and/or salinity) at, as a minimum, at least one time point. Our results provide valuable information for further studies on the roles of JcARF genes in regulating physic nut's growth, development and responses to abiotic stress.
