[Bouveret's Syndrome: A Case Report and a Brief Literature Review].
Bouveret's syndrome is a rare cause of gastric outlet obstruction. We report a case of a 68-year-old woman admitted with upper digestive obstruction. A few months later, and after several diagnostic tests and clinical surveillance, a cholecystoduodenal fistula was suspected. ⋯ This syndrome represents only 1% - 3% of all cases of gallstone ileus, being more frequent in women and in the elderly. The presentation is quite nonspecific, but in most cases the symptomatology suggests an upper digestive occlusion. Treatment can be achieved by lithotripsy, but most patients require a surgical approach.

Verbal and non-verbal communication skills are core competencies in medical practice and should be acquired and monitored in medical schools. However, their assessment poses a challenge. The aim of this study is to develop and assess the psychometric properties, validity and reliability of a communication assessment scale. ⋯ The final Minho Communication Assessment Scale proved to be simple to use and to have very good psychometric properties. Our results show that the Minho Communication Assessment Scale is a valid scale to assess communication skills which can be accurately replicated on objective structured clinical examinations focusing on communication.

Infectious keratitis is an important cause of visual loss. The purpose of this study was to investigate anterior segment optical coherence tomography patterns in infectious keratitis and evaluate the role of this tool in the early management of this disorder. ⋯ Anterior segment optical coherence tomography can complement biomicroscopy, allowing for a better characterization of corneal involvement at presentation that can help in staging and providing useful prognostic information.
