Sexual transmitted infections are a main cause of morbidity, being a public health problem due to its reproductive complications, mostly observed in teenagers and young adults. The purpose of this study was to evaluate sociodemographic factors and risky behaviours associated with sexual transmitted infections acquisition and to assess personal awareness of risky behaviour and the knowledge about Chlamydia trachomatis infection between foreign exchange students in Portugal. ⋯ Despite knowing about sexual transmitted infections, these students maintain sexual risky behaviours, mainly early age for starting sexual activity, multiple sexual partners and the absence of protection during sexual activities.

Accidental dural puncture is an important complication of regional anesthesia and post-dural puncture headache remains a disable outcome in obstetric population. The aim of our study was to calculate the incidence of accidental puncture and post-puncture headache and evaluate its management among obstetric anesthesiologists. ⋯ The incidence of accidental dural puncture and post-dural puncture headache was similar to the literature. Despite being a common complication, there remains lack of consensus on its approach.

[Hypertension Control at the Primary Health Care: A Comparison Among Portuguese Natives and Portuguese Speaking African Coutries Immigrants].
In Portugal, the frequency of patient with treated and controlled hypertension is low. It is unknown the relation of socio-economic determinants with hypertension control, particularly in African immigrants. ⋯ It is needed to define strategies to control hypertension in primary health care specific for ethnic groups.

Impact of Compliance with a Sepsis Resuscitation Bundle in a Portuguese Emergency Department.
Severe sepsis and septic shock are common conditions with high levels of morbi-mortality surpassing those of coronary heart disease or stroke. The reality of hospital treated sepsis is largely unknown outside of the intensive care unit. We therefore aimed to evaluate the level of compliance with the Surviving Sepsis Campaign 6-hour bundle in a Portuguese emergency department and to relate it to the patient clinical outcomes. ⋯ The compliance with a sepsis resuscitation bundle starting in the emergency department was positively associated with the outcomes of the septic patients. Nonetheless the bundle was unreliably performed.

Burnout is a psychological syndrome, characterized by a state of high emotional exhaustion, high depersonalization and low personal accomplishment, which leads to erosion of personal, professional and health values. This study reports the incidence of burnout in Portuguese Healthcare professionals. ⋯ At the national level, between 2011 and 2013, 21.6% of healthcare professionals showed moderate burnout and 47.8% showed high burnout. The perception of poor working conditions was the main predictor of burnout occurrence among the Portuguese health professionals.
