A Giant Solid-Cystic Mesenteric Fibromatosis with Unusual Synchronous Skin Fibromatosis.
Mesenteric fibromatosis (MF) is a rare, locally aggressive tumor without distant metastasis, which has a high recurrence rate. Based on its location, it is classified as intra-abdominal, from abdominal wall, and extra-abdominal. The incidence of cystic-solid, retroperitoneal tumors is very low in comparison to other MF forms. ⋯ Thus, diagnosis is made histopathologically. Nowadays, there is no consensus about its treatment although surgical resection is widely used. In the present study, a very rare case of cystic-solid retroperitoneal MF associated with separate synchronous skin tumors is reported.

The outcome of patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is highly dependent on demographic factors and ethnicity. We aimed to evaluate the clinicopathological determinants of prognosis among women with TNBC using data from one of the largest breast cancer (BC) registries. ⋯ BC stage plays a significant role in both earlier recurrence and earlier mortality among patients with TNBC.

Ectopic adrenal tissue is a rare condition associated with embryological development defects seen in many different areas in the abdomen and pelvis. Here, we aimed to discuss the clinicopathological features of ectopic adrenal tissues diagnosed in our clinic, in light of the literature. ⋯ Ectopic adrenal tissues can lead to hormonal problems and also to adrenal cortex and medulla neoplasms. Microscopically, they may be confused with clear cell gynecological and germ cell tumors. If the ectopic focus is misdiagnosed as an implant, a benign entity may be incorrectly reported as malignant. Also, it is important to prevent mis-staging in malignancies. For precise diagnosis, an immunopanel such as inhibin, melan A, and calretinin can be performed.

Antibiotic resistance against uro-pathogens is a worldwide health concern. The aim of this study was to determine the causative bacteria and antibiotic susceptibility patterns among hospitalized patients with community acquired urinary tract infection (UTI). ⋯ We found that imipenem, meropenem and amikacin were good choices for empiric therapy of complicated or severe hospitalized patients with community acquired UTI; and gentamicin, cefepime and ceftazidime were acceptable as initial choices in non-severe infections in the area.

Bizhan Aarabi and Knowledge Development in Neurotrauma.
Neurotrauma (NT) is one of the common causes of mortality and morbidity. Investigating the role of people who had an impact on the development of knowledge of NT is reasonable. Our aim is to investigate the role of Bizhan Aarabi, professor of Neurosurgery, on the knowledge development in NT. ⋯ Thirty-eight out of 112 papers (33.9%) were in the first and the highest rank journal: 29 in Neurosurgery and 9 in the Journal of Neurotrauma. Twenty-four papers have the level of evidence (LOE) of "1". Bizhan Arabi developed knowledge in NT especially in the cervical spine/spinal cord trauma and brain injury and his publications are references for spine/neurosurgeons.
