Mutation analysis of potassium channel genes KCNQ1 and KCNH2 in patients with long QT syndrome.
To determine mutations of two common potassium channel subunit genes KCNQ1, KCNH2 causing long QT syndrome (LQTS) in the Chinese. ⋯ The mutation rates for both KCNQ1 (6.4%) and KCNH2 (6.4%) are lower in the Chinese population than those from North America or Europe.

Polymorphisms in the coagulation factor VII gene and the risk of myocardial infarction in patients undergoing coronary angiography.
To investigate whether coagulation factor VII (FVII) polymorphisms play a role in the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease (CAD) and/or myocardial infarction (MI) in a series of Hans. ⋯ Carrying the F VII Gln(353) gene may be a protective factor against MI in the Chinese Hans.

Low standard oral anticoagulation therapy for Chinese patients with St. Jude mechanical heart valves.
To study the efficacy of the low standard oral anticoagulation therapy following St Jude Medical (SJM) valve implantation for Chinese patients. ⋯ A low target INR range of 2.0 - 2.5 is preferable for Chinese patients so as to reduce the severe bleeding complications in those with conventionally higher levels of INR. The long-term results were satisfactory in terms of the numbers of those who suffered thrombosis, embolism and bleeding.

Pre- and postoperative changes of regional cortical cerebral blood flow in patients with cerebral arteriovenous malformation.
To investigate pre- and postoperative changes of regional cerebral cortical blood flow in patients with cerebral arteriovenous malformation. ⋯ Monitoring CBF is helpful to understand pre- and postoperative changes of regional cortical CBF in patients with cerebral AVM.
