Colombian population is getting old in an accelerated manner, causing economic, social and health services effects. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection in the National System of Population Studies and Surveys for Health implemented the first health, well-being and aging survey- SABE-2015 Colombia- to know the living conditions of people 60 years of age or older. ⋯ The SABE Colombia 2015 survey is representative of the main indicators of health, well-being and aging in Colombia. The design allows regional comparisons, between large cities and urban and rural population.

Breastfeeding promotion is one of the most effective strategies to prevent child malnutrition; it reduces costs to families, health services and society. In Colombia, exclusive breastfeeding is practiced only by 10% of women. ⋯ There are factors before delivery and in the immediate puerperium that determine, partially, the duration of exclusive breastfeeding.

The following article constitutes an effort to make explicit an experience in neonatology within the framework of the exercise of occupational therapy, a discipline belonging to the health sciences. The occupational therapist (OT) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in which he participates in an interdisciplinary health group. Exalts the interaction of person-environment-occupation-performance. Encourage self-regulation of the baby. Encourages family participation in co-participation in routine activities. ⋯ The education in concepts concerning the occupation of the baby, the interaction with her/his environment and her/his caregivers, the procedures, the guide for the stimulation as the modification of the physical, temporal and social environment facilitate the self-regulation of the baby and we will all be working in pro of your recovery.

The scales to measure functional mobility in critically ill patients were developed and validated in English, there is a need for these tools in Spanish speaking countries. ⋯ Both scales were translated and culturally adapted and presented excellent inter-rater reliability in the two pairs of raters (rater/observer).

To analyze the environmental factors (nutritional status, levels of physical activity and nutritional habits) and their possible association with bone mass in a population of young adults. ⋯ Our results show that BMI and level of physical activity are significantly associated with bone health in a population of young adults, suggesting the relevance of promoting healthy lifestyles as a strategy for the early prevention of osteoporosis.
