Knowledge and attitudes towards organ donation in a sample of physicians from two hospitals in Mexico.
For many patients, organ transplantation is the only life-saving treatment. There is a severe shortage of organs for transplantation, and Mexico has one of the lowest organ donation rates. Health professionals are the link between society and the health system, and can promote and increase organ donation. ⋯ It is necessary to implement programs aimed at physicians in order to provide them with tools that help promote organ donation culture.

Dendritic cells (DC) are involved in immune recognition, response and immunomodulation mechanisms related to the onset of cancer. ⋯ DCs can regulate autophagy in hepatocellular carcinoma cells. The mechanism may be related to the synthesis and release of cytokines such as IL-2, IL-12 and IFN-γ by DCs.

Vitiligo is an incurable, slowly progressive skin condition, the prevalence of which ranges from 0.4 to 2.0%. Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) refers to self-perceived well-being associated with the presence of a disease and its treatment. ⋯ Poorer HRQoL is explained by severity self-perception, concern about disease progression, appearance of the skin and necessary actions to avoid sun exposure during recreation.

Pompe disease (PD) is a rare form of metabolic myopathy; the classic infantile presentation is severe, with death occurring before reaching one year of life, and the non-classical form is of slower progression and survival can exceed one year. ⋯ There was a good correlation between genotype and phenotype in children with Pompe disease.

Receptors are proteins coded by DNA, some of which have already been crystalized, thus allowing the details of their structure at the atomic level and some aspects of their function to be known. This review focuses on the most diverse and abundant family of receptors, G protein-coupled receptors. ⋯ Molecular modeling or "docking" is also a computational bioinformatics tool that supports research on receptor-ligand binding, which allows the design and development of increasingly specific drugs. These developments have brought along significant changes in fundamental pharmacodynamic concepts.
