With the advancement of knowledge in relation to the physiopathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD), several new therapeutic forms have been developed. There are also new guidelines for self-care. On the other hand, there is still an underdiagnosis of AD in Mexico. ⋯ The Atopic Dermatitis Guidelines for Mexico (GUIDAMEX) was developed with the ADAPTE methodology, with the endorsement and participation of ten national medical societies, from physicians in Primary Healthcare to allergists and dermatologists. Throughout the manuscript, key clinical questions are answered that lead to recommendations and suggestions for the diagnosis of AD (including differential diagnosis with immunodeficiency syndromes), the recognition of comorbidities and complications, non-pharmacological treatment including therapeutic education, treatment of flares and maintenance therapy. The latter encompasses general measures to avoid triggering factors, first-line treatment focussed on repair of the skin barrier, second-line treatment (topical proactive therapy), and third-line phototherapy or systemic treatment, including dupilumab and JAK inhibitors.

Analysis of cancer mortality in Mexico using the results of the Global Burden of Disease 2021 study.
In Mexico, cancer mortality rates have undergone changes over the past decades. ⋯ The results provide information for the development of health policies and specific prevention and control strategies to address the impact of cancer in Mexico.

Mexico faces a challenge due to the burden imposed by type 2 diabetes (T2D). ⋯ Comprehensive policies are urgently needed in order to reduce the burden of T2D in Mexico, through standardized guidelines, evidence-based strategies and technological resources that improve medical care accessibility and efficiency.

Keratoplasty in the pediatric population has been considered a high-risk procedure. ⋯ Prolonged graft survival can be achieved with better knowledge and management of different associated factors.

Mediastinitis after cardiovascular surgery gives rise to prolonged hospital stay and increased medical care costs, and is associated with high in-hospital mortality. ⋯ High mortality and significant antimicrobial resistance were found in patients with post-cardiac surgery mediastinitis.
