Background: Current treatments with urate-lowering therapy (ULT) are effective for most patients with gout. However, approximately 10% of these patients do not respond well to ULT and develop chronic tophus lesions. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of surgery involving the shaver technique against chronic tophus lesions. ⋯ However, factors such as age, sex, body mass index, renal function, or uricemia level exerted no significant effect on surgical outcomes. Conclusion: Surgery involving the shaver technique should be performed before tophus infection. Clinical outcomes tend to be better for upper extremity lesions than for lower extremity lesions.

Background: Obstructive nephropathy (ON), resulting from hindered urine flow, significantly contributes to both acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney disease (CKD). Research has consistently highlighted increased lymphatic vessels (LVs) density in diverse kidney diseases. However, the precise involvement of LVs in ON remains unclear. ⋯ Additionally, several risk factors contributing to the deterioration of renal function in ON patients have been identified, including age, ureteral calculi (UC), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and uric acid (UA). Furthermore, by leveraging LVs density, multiple robust models have been established to predict severe renal impairment in ON. Conclusions: Lymphatic vessels density is significantly elevated in ON, serving as an independent risk factor for the decline in renal function.

Background: Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) presents as persistent regional pain, both spontaneous and triggered. The demand persists for innovative treatments that patients can endure with minimal adverse effects. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) emerges as a possible intervention in this regard. ⋯ Conclusions: The majority of patients improved pain and functional state of the affected limb. Our data also suggests the sooner after diagnosis of CRPS is HBOT started, the treatment has larger clinical effect. There was no serious HBOT-related complication or injury.

Background: Ocular comorbidities of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) has been widely evaluated; however real-world evidence was scarce. Moreover, risk of glaucoma in HS patients remained unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the 5-year glaucoma risk in HS patients. ⋯ Patients aged 18-64 years (HR=1.33; 95% CI, 1.14-1.55) and ≥65 years (HR=1.33; 95% CI, 1.05-1.67) also presented elevated glaucoma risks. Conclusion: This real-world data analysis demonstrated a significantly increased 5-year glaucoma risk in HS patients versus matched controls. Ocular complications should be concerned while managing HS patients.

Background: CDK6 is linked to tumor progression and metastasis, although its molecular mechanism and prognostic value are unclear in bladder cancer. Materials and methods: In our study, raw data were obtained from public databases and Single-center retrospective case series. We conducted a bioinformatics analysis and immunohistochemistry to explore the biological landscape of CDK6 in tumors, with a particular focus on bladder cancer. ⋯ Finally, a comprehensive characterization of CDK6 was applied in the prognostic prediction of bladder cancer, suggesting that targeting CDK6 represents a potential therapeutic option. Conclusions: These results indicated that CDK6 is an independent biomarker for predicting prognosis and immunotherapy efficacy of bladder cancer. A deeper understanding of its specific molecular mechanisms may provide new treatment strategies.
