To compare two scales for assessment of patients with mild head injury. The Canadian CT Head Rule (CCHR) and New Orleans Criteria (NOC) according to their diagnostic accuracy in patients attending an emergency department, and to determine the most important predictive values. ⋯ Our study demonstrates the high sensitivity of the CCHR and the NO criteria in patients with mild head injury, both to detect a significant clinical lesion on CT or the need for neurosurgical intervention and better specificity of CCHR compared with NO criteria. The adoption of clinical prediction rules, especially the CCHR, to request a CT scan in patients with mild head injury should be recommended in the emergency department.

Review Meta Analysis
[Tamsulosin efficacy and safety for conservative management of renal colic: systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials].
The aim is to evaluate tamsulosin efficacy and safety on the expulsion of distal ureteral stones compared to a standard therapy. ⋯ Tamsulosin treatment seems to bring on the expulsion of distal ureteral stones, although at the expense of an appreciable risk of side effects.

Observational Study
[Computed tomography as a tool to detect potential brain-dead donors].
To assess the ability of urgent head computed tomography (CT) scan screening to detect patients who can evolve to brain death (BD). ⋯ Our work shows that data as easy to interpret as compression/absence of basal cisterns can be a powerful tool for screening patients at risk for progression to BD.

Predictors of unfavorable outcome in patients after cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA) are important to make decisions about the limitation of therapeutic efforts. The aim was to analyze the clinical variables in the prognosis of patients recovered after CPA. ⋯ The absence of pupillary light reflex, a low GCS and myoclonic state are prognostic factors in patients recovered after a CPA. The EEG patterns showed a nonsignificant association with prognosis.
