Streptococcus mutans is a Gram-positive opportunistic bacterial pathogen and that causes dental caries and then restorative treatment remains the best clinical practice approach to repair and prevent dental caries. ⋯ The novel application of ACTIVA restorative material is a promising option for patients at risk of caries.

Effects of misoprostol in reducing blood loss during abdominal myomectomy in Nigeria.
Despite using a tourniquet to reduce bleeding during abdominal myomectomy, the procedure is still complicated by significant intraoperative bleeding. ⋯ Among women receiving tourniquet during myomectomy in Enugu, the additional use of vaginal misoprostol 400 μg significantly reduced intraoperative blood loss.

Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) has been linked to cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and metabolic syndrome (MetS). Works on AGA, cardiovascular risk factors (CVRFs) and MetS are rare among Nigerians. ⋯ AGA in Nigerians is associated with dyslipidaemia, alcohol intake, and sedentary lifestyle. AGA severity is related to age, higher mean SBP, abdominal obesity and low HDL-c in male and age, and Body mass index in females. Nigerians with AGA should be screened for dyslipidaemia and counseled against the use of alcohol and sedentary lifestyle.

The impact of meteorological factors on the spread of COVID-19.
Clinical studies suggest that warmer climates slow the spread of viral infections. In addition, exposure to cold weakens human immunity. ⋯ Our results indicate an increased number of COVID-19 cases during the 39-week study period when the mean, max, and min temperatures were consistently low and the mean relative humidity was consistently high.
