Many studies have investigated most cancer types - associations with systemic inflammatory response (SIR) parameters. Aim: This study investigated predictive values of SIR parameters in oncological outcomes and survival - to primary non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) patients. ⋯ This study revealed no significant correlation between SIR parameters and oncological outcomes. Therefore, we need more reliable indicators than SIR parameters in NMIBC patients in clinical practice.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of different finishing-polishing (FP) procedures on reducing surface roughness of nanoceramic hybrid CAD/CAM material before and after thermocycle (TMC) aging. ⋯ Mechanical FP procedures were more effective in reducing surface roughness of nanoceramic hybrid CAD/CAM material than glaze applications. Sof-Lex kit followed by Super-Snap SuperBuff disc application can be recommended as the mechanical FP procedure of choice considering that this method provided smooth surfaces that were maintained after TMC.

Comparison of pregnancy outcomes of triangular 3-bites and mcdonald techniques of cervical cerclage in women with cervical insufficiency: A pilot study.
Cervical cerclage is the procedure of choice for preventing preterm birth due to cervical insufficiency. Despite the simplicity of the McDonald's method of cerclage application, it is still technically difficult to take four bites around the cervix before knotting. There is a need to develop a simpler method of cervical cerclage application with similar or improved pregnancy outcomes. ⋯ The new triangular three-bite technique has similar pregnancy outcomes with the conventional McDonald's technique and has shown a lower duration of procedure and blood loss. Since this is a pilot study, a well-structured randomized control trial to compare the two methods is recommended.

Musculoskeletal pain treatments are widespread in the clinical practice of physiotherapists. A multifaceted biopsychosocial approach should guide modern pain therapy. The study aimed to investigate the association of musculoskeletal problems with lifestyle behaviors. ⋯ The study concluded that the quantity of beneficial health practices boosted the health-related quality of life. To achieve long-term health, the complexity of the behaviour change needs to be supported by the individual's lifestyle pattern and the support of the data. Therefore, in this century characterized by chronic lifestyle-related illnesses, various health behavior modifications may be claimed to be a primary therapeutic skill of health professionals (individually and collectively).

In our practice as ENT specialists, people living with Human immunodeficiency Virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) have presented at the clinics with symptoms suggestive of otitis media with effusion such as the sensation of fluid in the ear, aural fullness and hearing loss. Eustachian tube dysfunction which is often the beginning of middle ear pathology could be caused by nasal allergy, upper respiratory tract infection, or obstruction by a nasal pharyngeal lesion such as lymphoid hyperplasia which is a common feature in people living with HIV/AIDS. Tympanometric findings give a measure of the objective assessment of middle ear function. ⋯ One out of every eight patients living with HIV infection may likely have Eustachian tube dysfunction while one out of every five may have developed otitis media with effusion already. There was no significant change in tympanometric findings after treatment with HAART.
