To study the correlation between vitamin B12 deficiency and hyperbilirubinemia and cholestasis in infants. ⋯ The study suggests vitamin B12 deficiency is a common phenomenon (48.4 percent), similar to what has been suggested by other studies conducted in Turkey. Therefore, the presence of vitamin B12 deficiency in cases with cholestasis or hyperbilirubinemia may show an association. To prove the correlation between them, more studies are required.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is highly prevalent among males, and hypothyroidism is previously reported to be related with ED. However there have been rare studies to investigate the association between subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) and ED, hence our objective was to fill this gap. ⋯ SCH is common in ED patients and may be associated with ED, whereas the severity of ED is not related to SCH. Screening for thyroid dysfunction in men presenting with ED is recommended.

Recently pharmaceutical marketers have expanded their audience by directly to the consumers advertising (DTCA) which is almost always limited to non-prescription drugs. DTCA has substantial effects on patient behavior and physician prescription. The aim of this study was to assess the perspectives of physicians regarding the rapidly proliferating trend of direct to consumer marketing of nutraceutical drugs (ND). ⋯ Physician perception of DTCA and e-detailing of nutraceuticals seems to be promising. However, physicians must be more prepared to deal with knowledgeable patients and put in maximum efforts to counsel them in such a manner that the prescription doesn't contain "request specific" drugs but only the ones that are most beneficial for the patients.

To establish a possible relation of dependency between pulmonary hypertension (PHT) and several factors, with the evaluation of their predictive potential, in Graves' disease. ⋯ The non-linear model best explains the relation of determination between pulmonary pressure and those factors having a better predictive potential (from 51% to 90%), compared with the linear model, the only exception being the age factor and the systolic blood pressure, where both models seems to be appropriate.
