Recent studies have focused on the probable role of oxidative stress in cardiovascular diseases. We aimed to assess the oxidant/antioxidant biomarkers in coronary slow flow (CSF). ⋯ Although there was not any significant difference in antioxidant biomarkers (TAS, PON1, SH and CP) in CSF patients, we detected increased TOS, OSI and LOOH levels which have oxidant properties. These data supported the possible involvement of oxidative stress in pathogenesis of CSF as previous studies reported.

Muslim patients have a unique set of healthcare needs that are related to their faith. These are generally not formally addressed in the medical curricula. The study aimed to recommend additional content that would better tailor the undergraduate curriculum to cater to the needs of this large cohort - Muslim patients. This is with the expectation that patients would have their faith-related health queries resolved by healthcare providers. ⋯ The study suggested that the topics proposed herein were in fact legitimate faith-related healthcare needs of Muslim patients. Their inclusion would add value to the undergraduate medical curriculum and would train practitioners to improve patient outcomes more holistically.

To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of children with choledochal cyst. ⋯ Compared with the traditional laparotomy, laparoscopic surgery conforms more to the concept of modern medical minimally invasive treatment and has a significant clinical effect in the treatment of congenital choledochal cyst in children. It can effectively promote the disappearance of clinical symptoms and signs, reduce the incidence of postoperative complications and disease recurrence, and improve the surgical efficacy, suggesting high clinical significance and application values.
