To assess Quality of Life (QOL), and its associated factors between asthmatic children and their caregivers, and determine the correlation between QOL of patients and caregivers, at King Abdulaziz University Hospital (KAUH), Jeddah. ⋯ Uncontrolled asthma was associated with poor QOL of asthmatic child and caregivers. Better management of asthma is recommended to improve their QOL.

To investigate the clinical effect of aspirin combined with clopidogrel on acute myocardial infarction after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). ⋯ Aspirin combined with clopidogrel can effectively reduce the occurrence of re-thrombosis after PCI and improve the recovery of cardiac function after acute operation, moreover the safety is high. It has important clinical application values.

Kikuchi disease (KD) or also known as Kikuchi Fujimoto disease is named after scientists Kikuchi and Fujimoto who describe the disease in Japan in 1972. KD originally reported from Asia but later case reports from different regions of world have been published. ⋯ It is a rare condition and mostly case reports have been published, it can have an association with other pathologies. We aim to report a case where KD has been found in a young woman in association with hemolytic uremic syndrome and acute kidney injury.

In this study we aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of dapagliflozin addition to diabetic patients using high dose insulin. ⋯ In diabetic patients with inadequately controlled glucose regulation despite high-dose insulin therapy, dapagliflozin may be an alternative combination choice to decrease the need of insulin dose and obtain an optimal HbA1c, fasting plasma glucose levels and weight without major side effects.

Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) is common nutritional deficiency particularly in women and also common during the older age. Aging increases plasma levels of inflammatory mediators such as pro-inflammatory cytokines and acute phase proteins. However, there is little information about changes in antimicrobial proteins in elderly women with IDA. In this study, we aimed to determine the changes in pro-inflammatory cytokines and newly discovered antimicrobial proteins like hepcidin, chemerin and defensin in elderly women with IDA. ⋯ We found that inflammatory changes occur in elderly women with IDA. Besides pro-inflammatory cytokine levels (CRP, IL-6, TNF-α), antimicrobial protein levels (hepcidin, chemerin, defensin) were found higher in elderly women with IDA because of inflammatory changes.
