To determine in-hospital mortality and major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in acute coronary syndrome (AMI) patients with underlying severe chronic kidney disease (CKD) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). ⋯ Severe CKD patients undergoing PCI for AMI have drastically poor outcomes therefore individualization and patient-centric care management is mandatory.

To study the correlation of hearing loss with depression, anxiety and stress in patients suffering from chronic suppurative otitis media in local population of Pakistan. ⋯ Depression induced by hearing loss as a result of CSOM in patients need to be monitored during and after treatment and scored so that can be treated by counseling and antidepressant (if required). Information regarding this topic on population of Pakistan will be helpful for health care takers and policy makers to manage mental stress with hearing loss in CSOM.

In obstetric patients' airway, guidelines have recommended the availability of advanced airway equipment. Our aim was to compare the larynx visualization provided by the Macintosh direct laryngoscope and McGrath video laryngoscope and the intubation time of patients undergoing cesarean section. ⋯ The McGrath VL significantly lowered intubation time relative to the Macintosh DL, which may be a critical finding considering the importance of maintaining the mother's airway for the health of both mother and baby.

The B.Sc. Nursing has limited hours dedicated to grooming and personal development. A smartly turned out, trained empathetic and efficient nurse helps in alleviating the miseries of the patients. The objective of this study was to see the acceptability and perceived usefulness of a course on grooming and etiquette. ⋯ Nursing is a demanding profession. It is important that our training includes sensitization to the non-technical attributes. They have to be groomed to become role models for young talented girls to join this noble profession. Even a short course may help to sensitize these young ladies to a very important aspect of their lives and profession.

To investigate the predictive validity of Uniform Entrance Test for academic performance in the first two years in various health science degree programs. ⋯ The uniform entrance test has an incremental predictive validity for the MBBS and BDS programs as compared to Pharm-D. Better performance in the entrance test predicts higher semester scores and more likelihood of achieving higher scores in the first year as compared to the second year.
