To determine the frequency of autoimmune cytopenias in chronic lymphocytic leukemia. ⋯ Autoimmune hemolytic anaemia and immune thrombocytopenic purpura are the most common causes of immune cytopenias in patients of CLL. Immune cytopenias should always be identified by laboratory tests as their management differs from other cytopenias which occur due to various other causes.

To explore the appropriateness of WFME Basic Medical Education (BME) standards to Pakistani context. ⋯ This is the first study exploring the appropriateness of WFME-BME standards for accreditation in Pakistan. We found that all the areas, sub-areas and standards are largely appropriate. We recommend further deliberation on 10 standards with more than five percent negative responses, regarding their contextualization to Pakistan and the development of guidelines and possible reconsiderations in WFME future revisions.

To evaluate the correlation between clinical hyperandrogenism-hirsutism assessed by modified Ferriman-Gallwey (F-G) score, anthropometric, metabolic and endocrine parameters among PCOS infertile women. ⋯ Hirsutism has correlation with anthropometric, metabolic and hyperandrgenic disorders in PCOS infertile women as assessed by modified F-G score.

With the emergence of antibiotic resistance and the hospital acquired infection, the interest for antimicrobial agents has recently increased again in public health. Copper is recommended as a supplementary method of increasing biological safety in the hospital environment. The objective of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of copper sulfate salts on strains of bacterial pathogens isolated from different clinical pictures in different health establishment in Algeria. ⋯ Copper sulfate salts has significant antibacterial activity against multi-drug resistant nosocomial pathogens.

We looked at risk factors and patterns of recurrence following surgical treatment of Gastro-Oesophageal Junction carcinoma (GOJC). ⋯ The incidence of recurrence following curative resection of GOJC is 25%. Type of neoadjuvant treatment, waiting time for surgery and advanced T-stage are a risk factor for recurrence.
