To evaluate the immunohistochemical expression of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) in broad spectrum histological subtypes of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and to determine the relationship of EBV with clinicopathological parameters of OSCC. ⋯ In this study, acantholytic tumor, a rare histological subtype of OSCC, tended to be EBV related. Moreover, OSCC cases bearing EBV infection were more likely smokers favoring buccal mucosa as primary anatomical site for oral cancer.

To investigate the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with surgery on locally advanced breast cancer and its prognosis. ⋯ Preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy in combination with TAC scheme can reduce the difficulty of operation, improve the curative effect of patients, significantly improve the prognosis of patients and prolong the survival time, which is worth clinical application.

The present study aims to identify the risk factors for Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1(HIV-1) infection in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) population by comparing HIV-antibody positive cases with HIV-antibody-negative controls. ⋯ The present study revealed spouse status of HIV, tattooing, migrants, IDUs, use of therapeutic injections, history of blood transfusion, male gender and employment as significant risk factors for HIV infection in the population of KP.

Spontaneous pregnancy loss has always been the frustrating experience for the couples and concern clinician. Chromosomal abnormality in either of the parent is considered to be the one of the leading cause of recurrent spontaneous miscarriages. This study was designed to evaluate the possible chromosomal etiology of miscarriage and the subsequent intimacy of maternal or paternal genetic abnormality. ⋯ In the recent study possible chromosomal abnormalities suggested the evaluation of the patient with the history of recurrent spontaneous miscarriage must include conventional cytogenetic. Moreover, probe development and extended investigation can ease the prognosis among pregnancy related complication.

To determine the possible changes in the conducting properties of the fast pathway after modification of the atrioventricular slow pathway for AVNRT which leads to the failure of the induction of tachycardia. ⋯ Our study showed that ablation of AV nodal slow pathway for atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia leads to changes in the effective refractory period of the fast pathway.
