A bunch of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, China, was caused by a novel beta-corona virus, (COVID-19) in December 2019 from where it spread rapidly across the globe. The aim of the study was to find out relevant reasons and offered suggestions to reduce the risk of infection and check clinical outcomes of the infected healthcare workers. ⋯ Our results showed increased rate of positive cases with fortunately lower mortality rate, although this novel pneumonia was associated with acute respiratory distress syndrome ARDS and intensive care unit (ICU) admission. Timely decisions, risk awareness knowledge and supply of necessary equipments are inevitable for the control of such epidemics.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic pathogen with remarkable adaptation ability to thrive in diverse environmental conditions. This study aimed at phenotypic and molecular analysis of metallo beta lactamases (blaIMP, blaVIM, blaNDM-1 and blaSPM-1) and genetic diversity analysis among imipenem resistant clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. ⋯ A high prevalence of blaIMP and blaNDM-1 among imipenem resistant isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa is alarming that calls for proper control and prevention strategies. RAPD technique was found to be a good genotyping technique when limited resources are available.

Type-1 diabetics (T1D) usually do not meet guidelines for glycaemic control. This study aimed to determine the benefit of free style libre-flash glucose monitoring system (FSL-FGM) in lowering glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in poorly controlled T1D patients. ⋯ The dynamic way of blood glucose monitoring using FSL-FGM provides improvement in HbA1c in diabetic patients without observed risk for hypoglycemia.

To explore the clinical value of contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) combined with contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) for characterization and diagnosis of small nodular lesions in the liver and investigate the association between such small nodular lesions and the degree of tumor differentiation. ⋯ CECT combined with CEUS has a higher coincidence rate, greater sensitivity, and better diagnostic accuracy when being used for characterization and diagnosis of small nodular lesions in the liver. A higher degree of tumor differentiation means a decreased magnitude of contrast enhancement and a blurrier boundary, which indicates that CECT and CEUS are complementary to each other in classifying malignant liver nodules. The use of the combined imaging modalities shows clinical value for characterizing small liver nodules and predicting the degree of malignancy.

To observe efficacy of Timolol maleate 0.5% by topical and surface application in infantile superficial capillary hemangioma of eyelid. ⋯ Topical timolol maleate 0.5% can be the first-line treatment modality for superficial capillary hemangiomas due to its better safety and efficacy.
