To assess the role of coronary arteries in acute coronary syndrome patients who have survived sudden cardiac arrest. ⋯ LAD has the most involvement among the coronary arteries (85.71%) in patients with sudden cardiac arrest.

To investigate the effect of butylphthalide combined with fasudil in the treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) with cerebral vasospasm (CVS) on inflammatory factors, cognitive function and vascular endothelial function. ⋯ Butylphthalide combined with fasudil therapy was found as effective in reducing inflammatory factors, ameliorating cognitive function and vascular endothelial function in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage complicated with cerebral vasospasm.

Beta-thalassemia major (β-Thal) and compound heterozygote of Sickle β-thalassemia (S-β Thal) are hereditary autosomal recessive disorders resulting from mutations or deletion in β-globin gene cluster. Patients with increased HbF levels having polymorphism at BCL11A site loci have shown clinical significance. The present study aimed to assess the frequency of BCL11A gene polymorphism in a study population of β-Thal, S-β Thal & Controls using Sanger sequencing leading to plot the HbF response of polymorphism with reference to wild type. ⋯ The patient groups of SCD and Beta thalassemia are devoid of wild type status. The wild type status of BCL11A is 57% even in control population. Higher level of HbF in B-thalassemia and SCD and B Thalassemia is a cost-effective screening marker before switching to an expensive genotyping testing.

Spontaneous decompression is an uncommon outcome of sigmoid volvulus (SV). The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of spontaneously decompressed SV. ⋯ Spontaneous decompression of SV is a very rare clinical entity. The clinical presentation and diagnosis of the spontaneously decompressed SV look alike the management-required SV. However, as seen in most management-required patients, SV tends to recur in the spontaneously decompressed cases and a recurrence-reducing procedure is required in selected patients.

The objective of this study was to determine the diagnostic value of stress perfusion CMR for the detection of coronary artery disease. ⋯ Stress perfusion CMRI can be considered as a first line, relatively safe, noninvasive test with significant accuracy to diagnose coronary artery disease in patients with suspected CAD without subjecting these patients to invasive coronary angiogram.
