To determine the risk factors and outcomes of maternal sepsis. ⋯ Gestational age below 37 weeks, lack of antenatal booking, and anemia were found to be significant predictors of maternal sepsis. E. coli was the most common pathogen identified. High mortality rate in maternal sepsis highlights the need for early identification, effective management, and close monitoring to reduce maternal mortality from sepsis.

Maternal mortality is a global concern primarily due to preventable obstetric complications. Challenges in implementing Emergency Obstetric Care (EmOC) in developing nations hinder effective reduction of these deaths. Our objective was to identify key challenges in EmOC practices among frontline healthcare providers, assess the severity and frequency of these barriers, and evaluate gaps in resources, training, and institutional support needed for effective resolution. ⋯ Despite high course content satisfaction, disparities in EmOC knowledge and practice persist among frontline healthcare-providers, with barriers like insufficient training and institutional limitations impacting maternal outcomes.

To explore the therapeutic effect of titanium locking plate combined with suture anchor (SA) repair in the treatment of proximal humeral fractures (PHF). ⋯ In patients with PHF, the combination of titanium locking plate and SA has a more significant therapeutic effect than that of titanium locking plate alone, which is associated with improved shoulder joint function and range of motion, and reduced incidence of complications.

To evaluate the efficacy of supra-inguinal fascia iliaca compartment block (S-FICB) in patients undergoing proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) internal fixation surgery for intertrochanteric fracture (ITF). ⋯ Compared to GA, S-FICB for ITF internal fixation surgery is associated with more stable hemodynamics, lower pain levels, less consumption of opioids, lower perioperative stress response, reduced postoperative complications, and shorter hospital stay in patients during the perioperative period.

To compare the efficacy of a probiotic plus antibiotic with antibiotic therapy alone for the prevention of the recurrence of bacterial vaginosis. ⋯ This trial showed that probiotics plus antibiotics significantly reduced bacterial vaginosis recurrences than antibiotics alone.
