To validate and ascertain the reliability of the Orofacial Esthetic Scale specifically within the context of prosthodontic patients, aiming to establish it as a credible and standardized tool for evaluating orofacial esthetics in this specialized cohort. ⋯ This study underscores the pivotal role of orofacial esthetics in prosthodontic care, introducing the Orofacial Esthetic Scale as a validated tool to quantitatively assess subjective perceptions. This will highlight its potential for tailored treatment planning and improved patient outcomes.

Goal of the study was to systematically review competitive advantages of medical devices for glucose monitoring in diabetic patients. ⋯ With increasing prevalence of diabetes, glycemic control is crucial for preventing complications. The market offers numerous glucose monitoring devices (GMDs) with varying features, making selection challenging. Our study systematically categorized the strengths of each GMD model for diabetic patients, aiding informed device selection.

Systematic review with meta-analysis of intraoperative neuromonitoring during thyroid reoperation.
Recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) injury is a serious complication during thyroid reoperation. Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) is one of the means to reduce RLN paralysis. However, the role of IONM during thyroidectomy is still controversial. The aim of this study was to assess whether the IONM could reduce the incidence of RLN injury during thyroid reoperation. ⋯ The presented data showed benefits of reducing permanent RLN injury by using IONM, but without statistical significance for temporary RLN injury.

To evaluate the quality and standard of hand-written operative notes in a teaching institute. ⋯ It is observed that the operative surgical notes were however explainable about the procedure, but quality and standard was not matchable with that of Royal College of Surgeons notes. Hence, a lack of formal training for the resident surgeons in operative notes writing was observed. This study is a thought provoker to the surgeons and a guide to resident trainees, and hospital management to provide a handful operative notes writing theme in the form of performa provided in the department.

To analyze the characteristics of deliberate drug ingestion in adolescents and its related influencing factors. ⋯ The incidence of deliberate drug ingestion in adolescents is increasing year by year, and their behavior is influenced by multiple factors. Interventions should be targeted at controllable influencing factors to prevent or reduce deliberate drug ingestion in adolescents.
