To compare the rehabilitation effects of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) and thermomagnetic therapy (TMT) in patients with low back pain (LBP). ⋯ A combination of core muscle training and ESWT can effectively improve the analgesic effect of the treatment and promote greater improvement of limb function in patients with LBP.

To compare the changes in Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer (RNFL) thickness and Intraocular Pressure (IOP) after phacoemulsification in patients with glaucoma versus without glaucoma. ⋯ Phacoemulsification results in increase in RNFL thickness and decrease in IOP, which are good prognostic factors in control of glaucoma. However, a mean change of IOP of 1mmHg in glaucoma patient does not affect management of glaucoma.

To investigate the value of serum procalcitonin(PCT), C-reactive protein(CRP), and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin(NGAL) in the early diagnosis of acute kidney injury(AKI) after upper urinary tract calculi(UUTC). ⋯ PCT, CRP, and NGAL concentrations in patients with AKI after UUTC were significantly increased two hours after the operation, which can be used for the early diagnosis of AKI after UUTC operation.

Falls are one of the major health issues faced by older adults, and they can result in physical harm, eventual loss of independence, and even death. Herein, we investigated the prevalence, alongside the main risk factors and resulting injuries, of falls among older adults. ⋯ The prevalence of falls is high among community-dwelling older adults in Jeddah. Physicians should identify older adults with higher falling risk and provide them with appropriate interventions. Public health strategies could significantly reduce falls and fall-related injuries in older adults.
