In this unprecedented situation of COVID-19 era, the educational institutions have to attune not only the teaching strategies but also the assessment. Similarly, just as COVID precautions have become the "new normal" practice, hence implementation changes during face-to-face examinations may become standard practice in the Post- COVID era. ⋯ This commentary paper is written on shared experiences of the examination cell principal resource faculty for OSCE and exam coordinators. It addresses how to plan and implement objective, valid, feasible and reliable clinical skills examinations (OSCEs) keeping in place COVID precautions to ensure the utmost wellbeing of all stakeholders involved.

To optimize and evaluate a real time PCR of Single Nucleotide Polymorphism by SYBR Green method for detection of donor chimerism after haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. ⋯ Our results demonstrate that SNP analysis by SYBR Green real time PCR may be used for the evaluation of chimerism status in patients having undergone HSCT with a sensitivity of <1%. Hence donor chimerism by this sensitive method can be used in monitoring of chimerism in post-transplant patients with various haematological disorders.

Obesity has become a serious health problem that has become increasingly important in recent years. Since patients with high levels of obesity have dyslipidemia and an unbalanced lipid profile, they have a high risk of both diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. This study aimed to evaluate the short (3 months) and long term (12 months) effects of mini-gastric bypass surgery from the current bariatric surgical techniques on the lipid profile. ⋯ In patients undergoing mini-gastric bypass surgery, serum LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol, and triglyceride concentrations decreased in the 12th postoperative month, but serum HDL cholesterol concentrations increased.

Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is a well-established medical problem which gives rise pain at various sites, fatigue, sleep disturbances, poor memory and definitely affects quality of life. Its prevalence in chronic kidney disease (CKD) is scarcely reported, thus we aimed to assess this condition and report its prevalence in our population. ⋯ From Pakistan prevalence of FMS has never been published. As this syndrome affects quality of life of patients, its recognition and proper management is immensely required.

To compare the removal efficacy of propolis and calcium hydroxide medicaments from the root canal using manual irrigation with sodium hypochlorite. ⋯ Propolis is superior to calcium hydroxide in terms of their removal potency from the root canal after thorough irrigation with sodium hypochlorite.
